Hello,
This is a reminder that the General Municipal Election that was scheduled for April 7th has been postponed until June 2nd. If you are able to vote absentee, please do so. You can request an absentee ballot from the St. Louis County Board of Elections at (314) 622-4336, or you can text me at (314) 740-5327 and I will send you an application. They are encouraging absentee voting.
I am a candidate for the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education. I have served on the board for six years. My husband Bob and I have lived in the community for 32 years. I am a retired educator of 31 years. 15 of those years were spent in our district as a principal. I spent 10 years at Griffith Elementary and 5 years at Holman Elementary. During my professional career I served as a classroom teacher, counselor, district desegregation liaison, special education teacher, and as an early childhood district administrator. The very epicenter of my “Why” has been the advocacy for and love of all children.
When making decisions that impact our district, my central focus is always on what is best for our children, parents, teachers, support staff, administrators and our community. My curricular based decisions are influenced by teacher, parent, and administrator recommendations, my professional experience and by evidence based research. Stakeholder input is sought, considered and valued on all district related issues.
While serving on the board I have gained a great deal of professional development from the Missouri School Board Association. I have achieved the highest certification possible (Distinguished Level) for all board members in Missouri. My reelection to the board will help to maintain its equilibrium as we make our annual transitions.
I NEED YOUR THREE! Because of cumulative voting, you have three votes. I am kindly asking for your THREE votes. You will see THREE boxes in front of my name, Donna Paulette-Thurman. Please shade in all THREE boxes. Your THREE votes will ensure my election.
Thank you in advance for your support. Please be safe and stay healthy. God Bless!
Donna
