Saint Louis, Missouri - In response to the recent and unfortunate incident involving a burst pipe at Heritage House apartments that has caused significant damage to the homes of our local seniors, my office is actively collaborating with community partners, state departments, and local officials to address the pressing issue of finding new, permanent housing for the affected individuals.

The safety and well-being of our senior community members are of utmost importance to us. We understand the challenges they are facing due to the unforeseen circumstances, and we are committed to providing support and assistance during this challenging time.

Our collaborative efforts involve working closely with local organizations dedicated to housing solutions, community partners who share our commitment to the welfare of seniors, and relevant state departments to explore viable options for immediate and long-term housing arrangements.

Through a concerted and compassionate approach, we aim to not only address the immediate needs of those impacted but also to facilitate a seamless transition to new, permanent housing.

My office remains steadfast in its commitment to the well-being of our community, and we will continue to work tirelessly until every affected senior is safely settled into new, permanent housing.

Most Sincerely,

LaKeySha Bosley
State Representative — District 79

“On behalf of the Congressional Black Caucus, I extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jayland Walker. From every account, he was a family man loved by many. He should still be alive today. The body camera footage is gut-wrenching and leaves us with far more questions than answers. The conduct of the officers and all involved must be investigated without delay. The Akron Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office must conduct a thorough and transparent investigation and provide regular updates to the community. Jayland’s family, the Akron community, and all of us deserve to know what happened and what the department will change to ensure routine traffic stops do not lead to more unnecessary deaths. Far too many Black people in America are killed at the hands of police during alleged traffic violations, and we cannot remain silent. This is not an acceptable outcome, and we can no longer afford to be merely outraged and heartbroken. While we have seen action on police reform in recent months, it is clear there is more work to do," said Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Joyce Beatty.
