Incoming 6th gradersโฆ we canโt wait to welcome you to the MAELS community! ๐๐
Middle school is a big and exciting step, and our Rising 6th Grade Orientation is designed to help students and families feel connected, prepared, and excited for the journey ahead. During orientation, youโll get the chance to meet other incoming students and families, connect with teachers and school leaders, learn more about life at MAELS, and ask any questions you may have before the school year begins.
At MAELS, we believe middle school should be a place where students feel known, supported, challenged, and celebrated for who they are. Weโre excited to start building our community together and canโt wait to learn more about each and every one of you.

Our 6th graders recently visited Barioโs for a hands-on pizza making class and got to experience math in a delicious way ๐
Students learned about how ratios and fractions play an important role in food making while creating their own pizzas with fresh dough, sauce, and cheese. It was such a fun opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning to a real-world experience.
A huge thank you to the team at for creating such a welcoming and memorable experience for our students!

Our MAELS students had the opportunity to attend a high school fair and explore all of the exciting possibilities ahead of them!
Students spoke with representatives from different high schools, asked thoughtful questions, collected information, and started thinking about the environments and opportunities that feel right for them. It was wonderful seeing our students advocate for themselves, step outside of their comfort zones, and imagine their futures. ๐โจ
