I witnessed many people, including the folks at OSUHU ask housing what their numbers look like at the town hall yesterday. They didn’t answer, so we took matters into our own hands. Join us tomorrow at our meeting to discuss next steps ✊

Only 1 in 20 residents will be allowed to STAY.

EDIT: There is a typo on slide two, the sentence should read: “ResLife plans to quietly roll out a new policy that will force over 5000+ current upperclassmen off campus to make room for incoming freshmen. Only an estimated 1 in 20 will be allowed to remain in on campus housing”

OSU is allegedly kicking 5300+ students out of on-campus housing, and you or your child might be one of them.

OSU Housing United is a coalition of students and student organizations who stand to oppose the implementation of this policy. If this policy goes into effect, next semester many students, their pets/emotional support animals, and families may be without any place to live.

Not only that, but we anticipate a massive spike in rent prices for off-campus residents, predatory leases, room and board costs, dropout rates, and potentially student homelessness.

This policy has been intentionally kept quiet. We speculate the plan is to decline the reapplication of 5,320 residents to force the move out, rather than letting us know ahead of time.
