💜 Leadership, Representation, and Sisterhood!

What a memorable evening at the Central Valley Asian American Chamber of Commerce's 9th Annual Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling Women's Leadership Event!

I had the honor of serving as a panelist alongside some incredible women and was humbled to receive the inaugural Dr. Elizabeth Blanchard Leadership Award.

As a Cambodian American, much of my leadership and community involvement has been within military and veteran spaces. Being recognized by the Asian American community was something I never expected, making this honor especially meaningful. I'm truly grateful and proud to be Khmer! ❤️🇰🇭

What made the evening even more special was seeing so many wonderful people there to share the moment with me.

To my WL209 sisters and our brothers who stand beside us: When I founded WL209, I wanted to create a community where women veterans feel connected, valued, and supported. Looking out and seeing you all there, I was on the receiving end of that same love and support. I'm especially grateful to the men who continue to advocate for women veterans and show up. It was a powerful reminder of why this community matters and the importance of having advocates who stand alongside women veterans. 💜

To my UCAN sisters: As Cambodian American women, this recognition belongs to you, too. It represents how far we've come, the sacrifices of those before us, and the opportunities we're creating for the next generation. I'm proud to share this moment with you ladies! ❤️🇰🇭

To our generous table sponsors, Magaña Realty and a WL209 sister: Your generosity meant more than seats at a table. You made it possible for our sisters to come together to celebrate our sisterhood and remind one another that we are seen, valued, and supported. I will always cherish it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you to the Central Valley Asian American Chamber of Commerce for this honor and for recognizing women making a difference in our communities. And to Tim Ulmer, thank you for capturing these wonderful moments through your photography!

We show up for one another, celebrate one another, and lift each other up. That's the power of community and sisterhood!

Women who served. Those who stand beside them. You belong here. 💜

💜 Women Veteran Fall Retreat | Restore · Reflect · Rise

7 spots remaining!

Warrioress League 209 invites women veterans to step away from the demands of everyday life and join us for a restorative weekend centered on connection, resilience, and renewal.

📅 October 15–18, 2026
📍 WorldMark Angels Camp | Angels Camp, CA

This retreat is intentionally small, with space for only 15 women veterans, allowing us to create a supportive environment where we can slow down, connect, and focus on ourselves.

Throughout the weekend, we'll explore resilience through Release · Reflect · Rest · Restore · Rise, while still leaving plenty of open time to choose what restoration looks like for you.

🔥 Release what you don't need to carry.
💜 Reflect and honor your journey.
🌿 Rest and give yourself permission to simply be.
🌸 Restore what replenishes you.
✨ Rise with renewed purpose and intention.

$50 registration fee upon acceptance. Scholarships are available—cost should not be a barrier to participation.

Retreat lodging, breakfast, dinner, and planned activities are provided by WL209. Lunch is left open, allowing you the flexibility to choose where to dine based on your activities and plans.

💌 Attendance is by application, and only 7 spots remain!
To request an application, email [email protected].

Take time to restore, so you can rise. 💜

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Melissa Washington, Founder of Women Veterans Alliance, for generously donating swag for our attendee swag bags!

Those extra touches helped our women veterans feel welcomed, appreciated, and celebrated throughout the day. More importantly, the support represented something bigger—women veterans supporting women veterans. 💜

Melissa, thank you for believing in what we are building here in the 209 and for supporting our very first Summit. Your generosity and continued commitment to connecting and uplifting women veterans helped make the day even more special.

We are grateful to have organizations like Women Veterans Alliance standing alongside us as we continue creating opportunities for women veterans to connect, support one another, and thrive beyond the uniform.

💜 Summit Recognition & Appreciation 💜

Behind every successful event is someone working tirelessly behind the scenes, often without the spotlight they deserve.

As I reflect on our inaugural Women Veterans & Military Service Members Summit, I want to recognize and thank Marine Corps Veteran and Warrioress League 209 member, Staff Sergeant Audrey Magaña, for her incredible dedication, leadership, and continued service.

Although Audrey joined our planning committee midway through the planning process, she immediately stepped in and made a tremendous impact. She took on the challenge of designing and building our digital application, registration, sponsorship, scholarship, and payment system using Jotform and Zeffy. What began as an idea became a streamlined process that allowed attendees to register, apply for scholarships, become sponsors, and process donations and payments online.

Beyond the technology, Audrey invested countless hours learning, testing, refining, and improving every detail to ensure the system worked smoothly. She has an exceptional ability to take an idea, organize the work, and turn it into a practical solution. Her contributions didn't just support this Summit—they created a digital foundation that Warrioress League 209 can continue to build upon for future events.

Audrey, thank you for proving that leadership isn't always found center stage. Sometimes it's found quietly behind the scenes, solving problems, building systems, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. Thank you for believing in the vision of Warrioress League 209 and for helping transform an idea into reality. Your dedication and continued service made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful.

💜 Thank You, San Joaquin County Veterans Service Office! 💜

Warrioress League 209 extends our heartfelt appreciation to the San Joaquin County Veterans Service Office for partnering with us during the inaugural Women Veterans & Military Service Members Summit.

A special thank you to Jose Garcia, Deputy Director of the San Joaquin County Veterans Service Office, for your leadership and support in making this partnership possible. Your commitment to ensuring the Veterans Service Office was represented at the summit reflects your dedication to serving our veteran community.

We are especially grateful to Sarah Diaz, an Air Force veteran, Warrioress League 209 member, VSO representative, and Founding Summit Leadership Team member. Sarah was instrumental in building the partnership between the Veterans Service Office and Warrioress League 209. Her collaboration and commitment to serving veterans played an important role in the success of our inaugural summit.

Thank you to Dominique, Phay, and Natasha for volunteering your time and expertise to provide onsite benefits assistance to our Summit Participants. Dominique also served as a panelist on our Veteran Resource Panel, sharing valuable information and helping educate participants about the benefits and services available to veterans and their families.

Because of your team's dedication:
🇺🇸 A veteran's spouse was enrolled in CHAMPVA.
❤️ A surviving spouse was connected with benefits assistance.
📋 Veterans who had never visited the VSO were connected to their earned benefits.
🤝 Many others received one-on-one guidance and support navigating their VA benefits.

This is the impact of partnership. Together, we didn't just provide information; we connected veterans and their families with the benefits, resources, and support they earned through their service.

Thank you to the entire San Joaquin County Veterans Service Office team for your partnership, your service, and your continued commitment to our veteran community. We look forward to continuing to serve those who served, together.
