In 1990, I was employed at Straight and Narrow, a Diocese of Paterson inpatient drug and alcohol residential treatment facility. At that time the residential population was 500 beds for men, women, and children. With state funding at a minimum, I was asked to head the newly instituted recycling department. The scope of the recycling effort was instituted in the Township of Wayne, NJ with four vehicles. Within three years our contracts expanded to seven different towns and a total of nineteen collection vehicles. By 2004, our net income was just over seven million dollars per year from recycling alone. This was accomplished in part by strict vehicle maintenance, trained personnel, and advancement opportunities. In 1994, I was named Director of Operations. This position held me accountable for fourteen buildings and fifty vehicles. Responsibilities included all aspects of zoning, building, and compliance. Interaction on both personal and professional levels was of utmost importance.
In the Fall of 2000, I moved into Penn Estates, a community in Stroud Township, and was elected to the board in the Spring of 2001 for a three year term. In that time, I pursued the need for additional bus stops, more recreational opportunities, and comprehensive road and drainage plans. Working with the local, state, and school officials, we met and fulfilled the challenges of the increasing population.
In March 2003, I opened MacMobile, a vehicle repair facility located in Mount Bethel, PA as a startup vehicle repair service. I continued to operate both entities until 2005 when I left Straight and Narrow and focused on my business which I continue to operate. On September 10th 2001, I joined the Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Department, appointed Chief Engineer in 2003, and elected Treasurer for both the Fire Department and Relief association that same year, a position I hold to this day. I have a working relationship with all the local officials and have worked with them on many different issues and concerns. I would be honored to continue to serve the residents of Stroud Township.
