Councilmember Chantal Landman While I value hearing from you, Facebook is not a good place to discuss official matters. Please feel free to email me at [email protected].

I’m happy to connect with you in person or over the phone. Thank you,
Chantal For 16 years, my family and I have been proud to call Summit home. I’ve been deeply involved in our community, volunteering with local organizations like GRACE, Moms Helping Moms, Impact 100 Garden State, the Summit Educational Foundation, the Junior League, and Summit’s Environmental Commission projects. I’ve also had the joy of coaching boys’ recreational basketball. Summit is a special place, one that my husband, David, and I chose for its vibrant downtown, excellent public schools, and strong sense of community. Our sons, Lucas and Connor, have thrived here, taking full advantage of all that Summit has to offer. Professionally, I spent over 20 years at Goldman Sachs, where I held leadership roles as an HR executive, chief of staff, and ultimately as a senior executive of the consumer bank. Throughout my career, I learned that solving complex challenges requires transparency, collaboration, and diverse perspectives. I built a reputation as a leader who listens, connects people, and fosters trusted relationships. I’m proud to have mentored teams through economic cycles and industry challenges, always leading with integrity and sound judgment. I was born and raised in Maryland, the daughter of artists and small business owners who worked hard to make ends meet. From a young age, I saw firsthand how education and strong community support can open doors and create opportunities. After attending Bucknell University, I worked in the nonprofit sector before relocating to New York City. Now, I’m running for Common Council because I want to bring my leadership experience, transparency, and collaborative way of working to our city government. I believe Summit thrives when we work together to prioritize smart policies, fiscal responsibility, and an inclusive, forward-thinking vision for our city. I am eager to listen, advocate, and lead on behalf of all Summit residents. I appreciate your support and hope to earn your vote in November.

Maddie Robb, a junior at Summit High School, shared the history of cancer care in Summit. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Maddie's story reminds us all of the importance of cancer screening.

Great news for Summit’s residents! The Our House affordable housing development planned for Wilson Park will move to a new location. Wilson Park will remain a park — all of it! 🌳🌲💚

I believe residents are right — we can do better than the current plan for the old firehouse site and the Shunpike property. Council will keep working to improve the affordable housing plan.

No one ever wants to call 911 for emergency medical assistance, but when you have to, you want Summit’s Volunteer First Aid Squad to respond. They are well-trained, unflappable, empathetic and quick-thinking. 🩵

Join me in recognizing Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad at the Common Council meeting on Tuesday 7:30 in City Hall. 🏅

What is Summit's tax base? How is that relevant to the City's affordable housing plan? Don't we need to sell and redevelop the old firehouse ASAP for the tax revenue? 💵

Recently some residents have asked about rateables. Here is a high-level explainer. 🔎

I’ll share more info in the comments if you would like to learn more. As always, please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions. 📧

Thank you!
