TBT! Looking back at October 2012, the main building is up, and the future site of the long planned Education Building has been delineated. To visitors it would look like a big lawn. To us, well to be honest, to Yours truly, I never thought I would live to see the day, it was always the future site of... We took on a big bite with the move. From a small non-conforming lot with a 900 sq ft building, to a 4 acre campus with a 13,000 sq ft building, room for an intern and guest house (see 2018) and room for a dream, an education center. And now, after more than a dozen years, we are in the actual planning stages for something new. We hope you will come along!

Turtle Bay is looking a little different right now as our Life Support Technicians, volunteers, interns and contrators have been working hard to improve our facility for the turtles!

We have been closed the last few weeks and continue to be closed as our facility gets some updates, including upgraded flooring and sloped trenches to allow water to drain properly.

Our sea turtle patients have also been moved temporarily to our Sick Bay, and Biscuit hs been moved to our isolation area, to allow the contractors and crew extra space to work, and limit the stress on our patients while the construction is taking place.

We are hoping to bring this project to a close in the next few weeks!

TBT! It is only fitting we look back to the blue hole as we remodel some of the life support infastructure this month. In the OG KBSTRRC 1.0 we had something called the blue hole, into which dumped and recycled sea turtle water. When we built 2.0 we stayed with the theme. Thank goodness for Jessie J who braved we know not what to keep that thing clean and operating. Fortunately in the summer of 2016 we said good-bye to blue hole 2, no tears were shed, and we installed a proper sump with room for friends. .
