Our seventh season in Fishtown wrapped up for the season today. And it’s bittersweet. It always is. 💙🐟

You may think a small seasonal shop would be low key but our Fishtown shanty is a beast to run. She’s a high traffic, high volume girl. We stuff our products in like tinned fish and the customers tend to follow suit on busy summer days. And with the amazing fall we have been having, it didn’t slow down much at all.

In the snowy, cold months when I am home working on my third cup of coffee and keeping my eye on a blizzard warning, I will miss the chaos of keeping our sticker wall stocked and rushing shopping bags over because we ran out again and playing tetris in my car to get everything to fit on our restock runs early morning and late at night. But for now, I am looking forward to putting her to sleep for a while.

May 2027 will be here before we know it…

Our Fishtown shanty is closing for the season Saturday, October 24th. I cannot believe we are to this point in the year. This sweet little spot has been BUSTLING this year and I couldn’t be more appreciative of the customers who come through our double doors.

We won’t be ending the season in a big sale or end of season deals this year. We have so many analytics to dive into this winter to work through what we are keeping and retiring for 2027. But what we will do doing is a Fall sale the following week. So let’s run through the details of that:  It will run Tuesday, October 27th - Wednesday the 28th. It will be ONLINE ONLY and our Suttons Bay location will be CLOSED those two days. Why? Because when we do sales we do it big and the amount of orders we receive are overwhelming. Having the store closed gives us time and space to get things packaged and shipped out as quickly as possible. It also saves us HOURS of work with flipping the store for a sale - especially this time of year when foot traffic and in person sales are much slower.

Are you a local? Perfect! Shop online and you can pick up in store when we reopen Thursday. We give customers a grace period of 2 weeks to pick up your order. Not gunna be in the area within those two weeks? That’s alright! We ship all over the US and over free shipping over $150.

What’s on sale? Not everything but items we have decided to discontinue or no longer carry. And most items are discounted 50% or more. It will be a mix of Wild Lettie products and other brands we carry.

So that’s the tea!

It’s gunna be an absolutely BEAUTIFUL fall weekend in Northern Michigan. And both our stores are stufffffeeedddd with colorful things for ya.

Are you gunna be getting out and enjoying the weather? I know I am! It’s supposed to be 76 and sunny on Saturday - I am hoping to get a swim in after work! Will it be my last of the year??

I didn’t know when we created this product years ago how much of a following they would get. They have been picking up speed and flying outta out stores faster and faster every year. I am so excited to see what the fan favorite will be on this latest drop. And yeah, swimming season might be over for a lot of our customers, but who doesn’t love to be prepared for next summer?

Spent the last 10 days in Washington resetting my nervous system by scrambling up sides of mountains for the views. Every single day enjoying our public lands. Coming home feeling excited to get back to work and come up with some more ways to support and protect our public lands through this lil business. 🤙💙🏔️

This past month my body forced me to slow down after a very busy summer season. My camera roll went from work mode to local’s summer mode real quick. I am still getting my health back on track but the things I have been able to do have filled my cup the last few weeks even with feeling less than ideal. Sunset swims. Cuddling with my dogs. Backyard hangs. Good books. Great seasonal food.   This time of year is my favorite. I wait all year for these few weeks where things calm down for the busy season but the farm stands are overflowing with goodness, the water is perfect for swimming and the nights cool off making it perfect sleeping weather.

And I’ve found time to do some creative work. 💙 Been playing a lot on my ipad doodling and working on the next National Park release. 🏔️🌳

Blankets are back. Back again. Blankets are back. We are telling our friends (you. We are telling you).

But for real, we restocked our blankets. In our stores. On our website.   And hot tip: we won’t restock again before Christmas. So grab one now if it was already requested because by the time Black Friday rolls around, we might be out again the way this year has been going… 🫠💙✌️

Wild Lettie wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have the love and support from a lot of people. But this guy is the number one reason. He gave me the confidence to do something for myself and still to this day continues to show up for me and this business in a way that keeps it all going. All the love and friendship cards? They were inspired by him.

I love you, Matt. Still my favorite human. Still stoked on us. Even after 10 years of marriage. Excited to keep exploring the world with you. The dogs too. 💙

September is here. And it always feels so bittersweet.

We still have plenty of busy days ahead through the end of the year. But Meghan and I are already brainstorming how to manage next summer. Because we fell behind on inventory and as much hard work we put it, we never got ahead of it. In the grand scheme of things, selling out of product constantly is a dream for a small business but it also wrecked my nervous system feeling like we were always scrambling. Small business owners are always juggling a million things at once but I felt the whack-a-mole game I have been playing for years malfunctioned and kicked it into high speed.

The past couple weeks I also had to randomly shut down the shops to let my body rest after experiencing a flare up of my blood disorder after being in remission for years. (I blame the whack-a-mole). I’ve had a few days where I have gotten dressed and into the car to go to work, almost made it and had to make the call to turn around last minute to go home and rest. Words cannot express how frustrated and sad it makes me. But I’m feeling like I’m on the mend and we have a full team for shop coverage moving forward into Fall.

This is not me complaining. I am so thankful for our amazing customers and this summer. It has been the best ever for Wild Lettie. Hands down. I think this is more of an explanation of what we experienced this summer and how I plan on doing better in the future. Because I really hope we keep growing. Thank you for sticking around. Thank you for being stoked on what we do. Thank you for being so darn awesome.

Did the sensible thing and turned some of your favorite new stickers into new hats. And they are so good we are running them ‘em so fast.   Meghan was selling them outta a box in Fishtown before they even were tagged and on the floor.

Besides the new designs, we restocked favorites from last year too. Get ‘em while you can. 💙
