Busy Bee Learning Center We accept ages 12mo and up. Quarterly assessments, benchmarks, state approved curriculum. Both are centered on nature and the seasons we are experiencing.

The provider has 3 degrees in education, including a degree in early childhood education and a masters in special education, putting us a cut above the rest. At Busy Bee Learning Center, we believe that children receive the best early childhood education when they are taught by teachers who play a role of a co-learner within an environment connected to the natural world. We have two physical spaces that we use for our learners; indoor and outdoor. We strive to be in our outdoor learning space at least 40% of the day, weather permitting. Risky play is encouraged to promote new cognitive and physical skills, social-emotional confidences, and a growth mindset giving children the ability to control their own successes or failures. Group learning is used as community building time and led by a teacher, but is open ended, allowing children to continue the play from one of the learning areas inside or outside. All five senses are awakened throughout the day in every activity children participate in. Through the ability of learning through curiosity and play, children are learning independence and Imagineering. While the teachers provide the “loose parts” and knowledge, the children are truly the builders of their future. Our current tour dates and times are Wednesdays and Fridays after 5:30pm. Dear BBLC Families:

We have a lot of exciting things going on this month!

Fall is finally upon us! We will be driving the Daycare Van in the the Pumpkin Fest Parade on October 25. Lineup time is 10:30am on Somanauk St (South of Becker Place). Please be ready to walk, stroll, or ride “scooters” (non electric) behind the BBLC Van! BBLC will provide bags of candy for the kiddos to hand out while walking. Please let me know ahead of time who will be participating so I have enough bags of candy for each child and adult! Past kiddos can join as well and represent our FCC home!

One day this week or next (October 14-16 or October 19-23) we will be going to a Pumpkin Patch.

The Sycamore Pumpkin Fest is a special time of year for Sycamore/DeKalb! We will be making an “Organizational Pumpkin Entry”. Your child’s pumpkin will be placed in that category on the DeKalb Courthouse Lawn in Sycamore. Please note, you can ALSO enter your own, individual pumpkin onto the lawn on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 12:00pm-9:00pm. I will attach entry forms to this letter.

BBLC is applying for the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) Accreditation. This will take about 6-8 months and I will include you in every step of the process. You will be asked to fill out some forms for an accreditation professional. These will be provided within the next few weeks.

Halloween at BBLC is here! Your child is more than welcome to join our family for Trick-or-Treating in Windfield Meadows. Just RSVP by October 28. Invite others that you know to bring a non-perishable good and receive a full size candy bar!

BBLC has 2 full time openings. Please let your family, friends and neighbors know that BBLC doesn’t require a first and last weeks down payment if CCAP. We would love to have others join our Family Childcare Home.

Good evening Neighbors!

Busy Bee Learning Center is a licensed, home childcare in Windfield Meadows. We work with 100% low income families and work hard to help those in our community. We were donated a “Be Kind Box” and it is located in our front yard. If you know of anyone who is in need of food, please let them know this box will begin to be filled with non-perishables starting in 2 weeks. We will also put a dog bowl for water as well as some dog treats!

I am posting here to let you know we are taking donations for this box. If you have any non-perishables or would like to donate some dog treats, please PM me and I’ll pick up!

BBLC looks forward to continuing to work with our community when a food desert is present.

BBLC has 1 Opening!

Busy Bee Learning Center has 1 full time opening and 1 part time opening! I also do “drop ins” of space is allowed.

Good early afternoon!

I still have a fever, but will accept kiddos tomorrow if you want to bring them. May just be a lazy day tomorrow! Please just let me know by tonight who will and will not so I can prepare things for them to do/eat.
