Syracuse showed up in the thousands to demand an end to Trump’s billionaire agenda of racism, war and attacks on working families. The people demand:

❌No War!
❌No Ice!
❌No Kings!
❌No Billionaires!

Trump wants $200 billion for the war in Iran, and has already allocated tens of billions to ICE and Border Patrol through the “big beautiful bill.” But when it comes to anything that would address the cost of living crisis, Trump isn’t interested. We need healthcare, housing, and good jobs, not mass deportations and war.

We are taking this momentum and continuing to build towards a nationwide May Day shutdown. A general strike for healthcare, housing, good jobs, and an end to war and ICE terror.

It’s time to get organized in our workplaces and neighborhoods with our coworkers and friends to take our power back. The people should have the power, not billionaires!

Syracuse mobilized with only hours’ notice to demand: “Stop the war on Iran!” The Trump administration and Israel have launched a massive military escalation against Iran, and the consequences are already devastating. Yesterday, an airstrike hit an elementary school for girls in the city of Minab—over 150 children were killed. This is not a war for “democracy” or ‘human rights.”

The U.S. has spent generations trying to dominate the Middle East for its oil, its waterways, its resources, and its people. For decades, it has surrounded Iran with American military bases, preparing for this war of aggression. Marco Rubio laid it bare at a conference in Germany: they want “a new Western century.” This is a war for empire.

Meanwhile, right here in Syracuse, working-class families are struggling to make rent, put food on the table, or see a doctor. Syracuse has the nation’s worst child poverty among larger U.S. cities. We’re spending nearly $1 trillion a year on the Pentagon’s war machine, when money that should be going to healthcare, education, housing, and meeting our needs.

This war is illegal. Under both the U.S. Constitution and international law, you cannot simply launch a war of aggression on a whim. But Trump and the billionaire class have made it clear: the rule of law is subject to a double standard. They act illegally and with impunity.

The majority of Americans oppose war on Iran. We don’t want our cities to languish in poverty for the sake of the war machine. We don’t want our siblings, children, and neighbors sent overseas to kill and die for corporate profits; and we don’t want the people of Iran to die for them either. We have more in common with the people of Iran than we do with the billionaire warmongers.

Trump’s unprovoked, illegal attack on Iran is an act of war that threatens to cause unthinkable destruction. Huge numbers of Iranians, U.S. service members, and people in neighboring countries could die as the conflict spirals out of control.

Iran has not attacked the United States, and has no intention to. The government has been engaged in diplomatic negotiations up to the very last moment, and has again and again insisted that it has no intention of developing a nuclear weapons program (which Trump claims to have “obliterated” last year anyway). This is a war of choice that Trump is dragging the country into as part of his openly colonial foreign policy that seeks a world where he “runs” everything.

Massive civilian casualties will be an inevitable part of Trump’s war on Iran. And the Iranian people have already suffered so greatly under the sanctions imposed by the U.S. government. Any excuse coming from the Trump administration about “human rights” or “democracy” is ridiculous – they clearly have no concern for the well being of Iranians.

Trump promised to bring peace to the world while he was running for office, but he has done nothing but left a trail of devastation the world over. The people of this country are fed up with endless wars. Rather than making executives at oil companies and weapons manufacturers richer, our tax dollars should be used to meet people’s needs.

Young people should not be sent to kill and die for the profits of big corporations and Trump’s own ego. We need to raise our voice against this war.

TURN OUT FOR GOOD CAUSE! 🚨🚨At the eleventh hour, with Good Cause likely to pass, Syracuse slumlords have demanded a hearing to discuss the impending protections for tenants. It’s critical that Syracuse tenants pack the hearing and testify how the protections against arbitrary rent increases and lease non-renewals would change the city’s housing for good! Please show up!
