Editorials, local politics, solutions to our future and a place where great minds will come together and Visualize a Tacoma that we can all be proud to call our city. The VisualizeTacoma.com website will also be morphed into a place where we can all share our visions of Tacoma's future and talk about what we want to see this city focus on to bring us all closer together and flourish as a city. I ran out to the peninsula to a job site… the whole way there, the gauge read a pleasant 69 degrees.

Within a minute, after crossing The Narrows, back on the Tacoma side, the gauge shot up to 84.

Driving through Tacoma, I’ve always remembered those whom had supported my campaign. Glancing at the familiar homes who’d posted my signs in their yards.

This time, I noticed a house of supporters who had evidently vacated their home. My signs, stacked outside, with other items, left behind. I remember them as being concerned about the skyrocketing price of housing in Tacoma. They also asked to “keep the signs for next time”.

I hope all is well with them… in Tacoma or wherever they may be.

And that’s not something we can ignore any longer. Last week, Tacoma Arts Live announced it would close.  This is not an unfortunate accident.  It’s a direct consequence of years of political choices that left our arts community without the support it needed to thrive.
