This past week we raised over $1,100 for medical aid to Cuba. Thank you to all who came out to support! Thank you for hosting our karaoke. Thank you and for having us join the benefit show for food relief to Cuba on Saturday.

DSA condemns the U.S. blockade on Cuba and all military and economic threats against the peaceful, sovereign nation. Just like Venezuela, Iran, and all other illegally-sanctioned countries, the Cuban people deserve a life free from the violence of the United States government.

Cuba sí, bloqueo no! Solidarity forever!

This year, Tampa DSA is organizing to cancel $1,000,000 in medical debt for Hillsborough County residents!

We reached our goal by raising over $10,000, every dollar donated cancels $100 in medical debt. Our fundraiser officially ends this Sunday, so click the link in our bio to donate and cancel debt for more of our neighbors.

We know that corporate greed will keep our community facing high medical costs and debilitating debt, until we win universal healthcare 🌹

As the illegal war on Iran drags on, gas prices continue to rise all around us. Meanwhile, the CEOs of these companies are making record profits.

Chevron provides 70% of Israel’s oil which is used to fuel their genocide of Palestinians, bombing of civilians in Lebanon, and now to pull the US into an endless war with Iran. This pointless war is causing a global energy shortage, resulting not just in the increase of gas prices, but also of anything that relies on gas, which includes everything from food to manufactured goods. While everyday people struggle to pay rent, afford meals, and make ends meet, energy company CEOs received a reported 16% raise in the past year alone.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Join us as we grow the .movement -led boycott and pressure Chevron out of Tampa Bay and out of Palestine!

During last week’s May Day benefit show, Tampa DSA members spoke with community members about the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC), a volunteer-based, grassroots organizing project of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America (UE).

Join Tampa DSA for a special Karaoke Fundraiser! Help us raise $1,000 for medical aid to Cuba! 🇨🇺

The U.S. blockade against Cuba is currently at an all-time high. The Trump administration has imposed an oil blockade on Cuba since the start of the year and continues to add additional sanctions on the island.

In solidarity, we are partnering with Global Health Partners to send life-saving medical aid. Global Health Partners is an OFAC licensed exporter who have sent $131 million in medical supplies to Cuba over the last 50 years. Learn more here: https://ghpartners.org/sutures/

We crushed our goal and have raised over $10,000. Every $1 donated cancels $100 in medical debt. This means together we’ve raised enough to cancel over $1,000,000 in medical debt for Hillsborough County residents!

Medical debt will continue burdening our neighbors until we achieve Universal Healthcare.

We’re just under $1,000 away from our goal of $10,000! By partnering with Undue, once we raise $10k, we will cancel $1 Million in medical debt for Hillsborough County residents.

In honor of May Day, we will also be hearing from local union members and healthcare workers on how the working class can unite to organize their workplaces and fight for Medicare for All!
