The difference is CLEAR! Dr. Pro has been in private practice since 1979. He became certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology on 1977.
He graduated with honors from medical school in 1971 at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, subsequently he went to Columbia University for his Ophthalmology training and then continued on Jefferson University for his Retina Fellowship. During his training he obtained licenses in the State of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania but he settle for Florida where he opened his private practice. In
addition to private practice, Dr. Pro became a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida and provided voluntary work at the Veterans Hospital of Tampa. Since 1979 he has dedicated part of his live to improve the Ophthalmological care in Peru, with education, donations, training local ophthalmologist and supporting underserved communities with over 10,000 ocular surgeries. His practice philosophy is to take the time to get to know each patient and understand their visual needs and concerns. A thorough examination then leads to the best options for their eye health care, so that the patient can make an informed decision of what's best for their situation. Dr. Pro is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Paul Harris Fellow, Past President of the Peruvian American Medical Society, Past President of PAMS for Peru, active member of the Peruvian Ophthalmological Society and the Peruvian Medical College. He enjoys swimming, yard work and is a sports enthusiast. His greatest joy has been watching his 3 sons grow up!
