We were proud to come out and support Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Tucson during their Grand Opening Build!

Together with volunteers from across the community, 51 beds were built in a single day for local children in need.

Our AFSA volunteers had the opportunity to work alongside other community partners to help build, assemble, and prepare these beds while supporting Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s mission of making sure no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

Thank you to everyone who came out, put in the work, and helped make such a meaningful difference in the Tucson community. We’re grateful to everyone from Chapter 1261 who showed up and represented AFSA through service!

Our recent Adopt-a-Street cleanup was a success! A1C Beech, A1C Ngugi, and SrA Gartner collected 17 bags of trash, totaling an estimated 125 pounds, with 5.25 man-hours of work.

Huge shoutout to all three for their hard work and dedication to keeping our community clean!

We had a great turnout for our Bundles for Babies class, with 30 participants representing 15 couples.

We were able to put together 30 bags filled with diapers, wipes, baby medicine, nasal aspirators, coupons, and other helpful items for new and growing families.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the class a success. We truly appreciate the support and care shown for our Airmen and families.

On Sept. 17, 2026, the Davis-Monthan community came together for 24 hours to walk and run in honor of those who cannot be forgotten.

AFSA was honored to host this year’s POW/MIA Remembrance Walk/Run, organized by TSgt Schuster.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and carried that remembrance with every step.

You are not forgotten.

🇺🇸 POW/MIA Remembrance Week 🇺🇸

This week, We are inviting the Davis-Monthan community to come together in honor of our nation’s Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action. We started this morning with a breakfast. Thank you to Capt Hekowczyk for speaking with us and to everyone who joined us this morning as we came together to honor our nation’s Prisoners of War and remember those still Missing in Action.

The week of remembrance continues:

• Tuesday, September 15 | “Carry Their Legacy” Ruck March
0630 at the Davis-Monthan Golf Course Track
Six-mile ruck with 20+ pounds. Civilian workout attire is encouraged.

• Thursday- Friday, September 17–18 | 24-Hour Remembrance Walk/Run
Begins at 1300 and continues for 24 hours. Walk or run at your own pace—open to active duty members, families, retirees, and civilians.

• Friday, September 18 | Annual POW/MIA Ceremony
Doors open at 1500; ceremony begins at 1530
Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 E. Valencia Road, Tucson

We encourage everyone across Davis-Monthan to participate throughout the week as we honor the service members who endured captivity, remember those who have yet to return, and stand beside the families who continue to wait.

Honor. Remember. Never forget.

August has been a busy month! The Davis-Monthan AFSA Chapter has been hard at work supporting our Airmen, strengthening our community, and expanding AFSA awareness!

• At the LRS Commander’s Call, we spoke with Airmen about AFSA, welcomed one new member, and sold chapter patches to support our efforts.

• During our highway cleanup, we had 8 volunteers come out and help us collect eight bags of trash, garnering support from the local community!

• At the Exchange, we helped members of DM register to vote and welcomed another new member to our chapter.

• At Right Start, we connected with Davis-Monthan’s newest arrivals, shared AFSA mission, resources and benifits gaining three new members.

• We also hosted lunch for Airman Leadership School, spoke with our future frontline supervisors about AFSA’s mission, and handed out seven membership applications.

Thank you to every volunteer and supporter who helped make these events successful. Together, we continue to advocate, educate, and serve!

Thank you all for your sustained energy and passion. Your efforts have pushed us to power the 250th membership special. People are amped up and want to be a part of our beloved Association...for life!

We have some great news, the 250th member for life special has been extended through the duration of the PEDS...this is a win and a steal! Of note, the standard member for life prices are between $450 and $650.

On-site, the membership booth has additional applications, are rocking and rolling.

Our July 23rd Parenting Class was a huge success! We had 19 participants join us, and thanks to incredible community support, we prepared gift bags and materials valued at roughly $700. 🎁
