Something nobody talks about enough in paranormal investigation: the group you're in matters just as much as the location.
We've had nights inside some of the most active spaces we've ever investigated and walked out with almost nothing. Not because the location went quiet. Because the energy in the room shut it down before it could start. Someone dragged there by a friend, arms crossed, loudly expressing their disbelief. Someone so scared of something actually happening that they deflected every moment with a joke or a dismissal. Fear we understand. Skepticism we respect. But there's a particular kind of closed energy that a location seems to notice and respond to accordingly.
Then there are the nights where every single person in the room is present. Not necessarily a believer. Just open. Willing to sit in the silence, pay attention, and let whoever is there make itself known. Those are the nights where sometimes a skeptic becomes a believer.
And then there's provoking. We have a zero tolerance policy on this. If we catch a guest provoking, they are asked to leave. No exceptions. It's disrespectful to the location, to the other guests, and the spirits. An investigator, during their private investigation, got slapped in the boiler room at Poasttown after they admitted to provoking. We always say the same thing: you're going to get exactly what you asked for, or nothing at all. Neither outcome is worth it.
We've watched locations that are reliably active go completely still when someone in the group decided to be difficult. We've also watched what happens when someone pushes something they don't fully understand. Neither story ends well.
After 15 years of doing this, we know that investigation is a two-way conversation. You bring respect, curiosity, and an open mind, and you give whoever is there a reason to show up. You bring ego or aggression, and you ruin the night for everyone, including yourself.
Come ready to listen. Leave the attitude at the door.

Hey, my spooky friends!!! Due to job requirements and project training, we will be taking a temporary break from paranormal activities. We will post occasional updates and plan to resume our regular paranormal investigations in the fall after returning later this summer.
