Host Homes is currently serving students in 4 school districts in Thurston County. Our school partnerships are an important part of the Host Homes model. We work closely with school counselors and staff since educational goals are foundational to helping our students succeed. Working closely with the schools allows us to better support our youth whether they are working towards graduation, GED programs or vocational programs. Thank you to the school districts and the staff who help assist our youth towards brighter futures.

Our Host Homes Director, Morelia, joined our Executive Director, Vanessa, along with members of the CYS.oly team to represent Thurston County at Communities for Functional Zero, hosted by the Office for Homeless Youth in Seattle. They spent the day learning about and exploring ideas for homelessness reduction using the functional zero model. Some of the topics included collecting meaningful data, outreach strategies and cross-community collaboration. It was a great opportunity to be surrounded by passionate people and work together to find solutions for homelessness. 💛
