Great cities are built by great employees.
Turlock's city workforce has a 7% vacancy rate and a 4.7 out of 5 employee satisfaction score. Those numbers reflect strong communication, healthy relationships between staff and management, and a workplace where people feel valued and respected.
That matters for every resident — because when the people who serve Turlock are supported, you get better service, faster responses, and city services you can count on.
I'm proud of this team, and proud that Turlock is a great place to work, serve, and grow.

It was truly a special honor to present a plaque on behalf of the City of Turlock recognizing the annual Stevinson Portuguese Bullfight.

For generations, Portuguese families have helped make Turlock the wonderful community it is today, sharing their traditions, their culture, and most importantly, their friendship with all of us. Faith, family, hard work, and hospitality are woven into the fabric of this city because of them.
I am proud to celebrate this cherished tradition and the Portuguese families who proudly call Turlock home. Our community is stronger and richer because of you.

Labor Day weekend, Turlock. The work never stopped. 🇺🇸
This weekend is for the people who do the work — and in our city, that's the officers, firefighters, road crews and city staff who cover Turlock every single day.

Dear Turlock Community,

Last month, we came together for the 2026 State of Turlock Address and had an opportunity to look at where our city stands today, reflect on how far we’ve come, and talk about the work still ahead.

And there is a lot worth celebrating.

Since 2020, Turlock has balanced every budget while significantly strengthening our financial reserves. At the same time, our Police and Fire departments are fully staffed, and we’re continuing to provide the people, equipment, and resources needed to help keep our community safe.

We’re also delivering on one of the priorities residents have made clear for years: fixing our roads. Twenty-four miles of road work are now complete, another 25 miles are underway, and approximately $60 million has been committed to improving streets throughout Turlock. That’s a significant investment in the roads our residents, families, and businesses rely on every day.

We’re seeing continued economic growth in Turlock as well, with new businesses opening, new jobs being created, and Turlock Marketplace beginning to take shape. These developments bring new opportunities to our community and help build a strong foundation for Turlock’s future.

Behind all of these accomplishments is something even more important: what they mean for the people who call Turlock home. Strong finances help us provide essential services. Better roads make everyday travel safer and more reliable. A strong public safety system helps ensure we’re ready when our residents need us. And new businesses bring jobs, services, and opportunities to our community.

None of these accomplishments happen by accident. They take dedicated City employees, strong community partnerships, responsible stewardship, and residents who continue to tell us what matters most.

The State of Turlock was an opportunity to celebrate how far we’ve come, but our work isn’t finished. We’ll continue listening to our residents, investing in our community, and working each day to make Turlock an even better place to call home.

Thank you for continuing to be part of what makes our community so special.
