SEPTEMBER SUNSETS! Are you joining me for noticing our September sunsets? Each night I think of you out there checking the skies from:
* your window at home
* or work
* or driving in your car
* or the sidewalk
* or maybe a restaurant
* or favorite sunset spot

It’s ONE moment in your September day where you can notice nature, be mindful, and connect with me at the very least — but hopefully also connect with your little one or loved ones. My family looks forward to this every year. And it costs $0.

I’ve been amazed how different each night looks every September.

If you want to join in, just notice the sunsets everyday around 7-ish this week (you can usually see the exact time in your weather app). No need to snap a photo or even share. Unless you want to! In which case, you can tag me at Michele | Parks, Family Hikes, Nature in OC on Instagram.

Support an independent bookstore in Old Town Tustin! We are total bookstore fanatics and love hanging out & learning from the different perspectives each bookstore we visit offers.

has a cozy kids section in the back and then, visiting without kids, we were surprised to find this little reading nook. I’d perused the titles back here, but missed the “secret spot” on my first pass.

📍Arvida Book Co at 115 West Main Street, North Tustin.

Go support your local independent bookstore. This one has a coffee shop inside! And White Sparrow Coffee is also across the street. Farmers Markets happen often in Old Town Tustin, too.

You can contribute by getting a membership or donating to their Foundation, as well:

Our dream since opening Arvida Book Co. in 2020 was a community in which every resident has access to books, to the writers who create them, and to a literary community growing around them regardless of income, background, or circumstance. In early 2025 we officially launched the Arvida Book Co. Foundation to support that work.”
