We want to thank The Pro Voice Project for bringing their production all the way to Twin Falls, and for giving us the opportunity to be involved in such a powerful, informative experience.
We hear many tragic, avoidable stories of women and individuals in Idaho being turned away, lifeflighted to other states, or being forced to wait until they're on the brink of death to receive the abortion care they desperately need. However, it's not often we get to hear from physicians themselves, bound by state laws and unable to properly care for their patients.
Those that have left the state felt forced out by Idaho's trigger ban—forced to leave their homes, their communities, and forced to abandon their patients. Those that choose to stay are still at risk under the vague qualifications of what constitutes a patient's condition being severe enough to warrant this care.
As it stands right now, our state's medical system and laws have an impact that reverberates for everyone involved. We must ALL fight to restore access to life-saving abortion care, and to protect our physicians from unjust punishment and restrictions.
Please consider giving them a follow on Instagram and showing support however you can. The Pro Voice Project, their wonderful organizers, and all of their efforts are incredibly important as we navigate the current landscape of healthcare in Idaho—even more so if Prop 1 fails.
