AUSD - Auburn Elementary School

Last night was the AUSD - Skyridge Elementary School Glow Parade event where students rode on wheels at school with lights and music. I am so grateful for the community partnerships that made this event safer. Thank you Auburn Police Department for participating! I tried to capture one of our officers on a bike but it was a blur! We were fortunate to have the Auburn CHP participate and bring helmets and safety materials to share. Thank you!!

The Renaissance Faire is October 18th. I am happy that our AUSD 7th graders have an opportunity to participate in this living history event. Please see the message below from one of our teachers. Please reach out if you have a costume we could pass on to our students. Thank you!

Hi Auburn Community!!
I am a local history teacher! Our communities 7th grade students will be participating in a living history Renaissance Faire! Over the years we have collected a closet of costumes for students that do not have the means to purchase one. Currently our closet has dwindle and we are needing a restock of some costume items. If you have any Renaissance attire that you would love to donate to a great cause the students would really appreciate it. We are looking for items that include: solid color floor length skirt, mens solid color dress shirts, vests, women’s peasant style blouses that are also solid colors.

Even better did your child participate in the renaissance faire previously and still have the old costume??

I have put some pictures as ideas of what we are looking for. Thank you for your time and consideration!!

What a great night celebrating individuals who make Auburn such a wonderful place to live! I am especially grateful for the honorees who support our students. Thank you to Crystal MacDonald (shown here with AUSD - Skyridge Elementary School Principal Christy Aday) for her contributions to AUSD students and families; she makes so much magic happen for our school community. Thank you Auburn Little League CA and President Jamie Baldwin for their volunteer efforts. Thank you Joanne Neft for supporting agriculture and the arts, including funding projects such as the amazing Alta Vista mural. Thank you all!!

Please consider shopping at BriarPatch Food Co-op this month and Rounding Up at the Register to benefit Auburn Education Foundation. Thank you for supporting Educator Grants, Auburn Civic Symphony Goes to School and the 7th Grade Renaissance Faire, among other great programs!

What a well-deserved honor! Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Mrs. McDonald!

The Auburn community celebrates nine honorees every year for selflessness and service to the city through the Celebrate the Community Awards. Skyridge Elementary teacher Crystal MacDonald will be honored next month as Friend of Education.

What a great opportunity to serve the community. Please see below for an opportunity for youth to serve on a City Advisory Committee created just for them.

The City Auburn desires to foster involvement of young people in the work of the City and the reestablishment of a Youth Advisory Commission is an appropriate means to foster that involvement.
