Many of the settlers of Savonburg were Swedish and they formed a Swedish concert band. It was incorporated as a city in 1902. Savonburg is a city in Allen County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 109. TIME CHANGE: In two weeks we spring forward one hour and begin daylight saving time. We lose an hour of sleep that night, but then sunrises and sunsets will happen later. Our sunsets will be after 7 pm starting March 8th.

This scam came by text to both of a mothers's older children who do drive. It IS NOT from a state of Kansas entity as it purports to be.
Sometimes, we get so used to receiving auto text messages from all sorts of stuff we did sign up for that it can become second nature to click links without even looking at the content. DON'T!!
The obvious indicators here are:
1. There is no Deparment of Vehicles.
1a. If there were a "Department of Vehicles," they wouldn't deal with traffic tickets. That would be the local court, which handles cases like this by mail.
2.They give a one-day notice to try and create a sense of urgency and get you to click the link or contact them right now (DON'T).
3. The number the text came from is not named, which means it is new to you.
4. The number the text came from looks odd; that is because it is a phone number from the Philippines (country code +63)
5. Check out that link a bit closer. It's definitely not the official government link.; they make it look close, but it's not.
6. Even if the "DMV" did communicate like this, they don't suspend your driving privileges. Think about it, how would that even work if the car is registered in mom's name only, yet the kids are getting the notification?
7. Almost every county "DMV" (Treasurer's Office here in Allen County) sends out notices by mail, as does the State of Kansas.
NEVER GIVE ANYONE ANY PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION UNLESS YOU CAN VERIFY WHO THEY ARE (BY CONTACTING THEM AT A NUMBER YOU KNOW)
