The Women of BECA cordially invite your participation in congratulating Miss Taliah L. Lewis and Miss Courtney Francis, esteemed recipients of the 2026 Edna R. Anthony/BECA, Inc. Scholarship.

Miss Lewis, a senior at Bishop McNamara High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, intends to pursue studies in Political Science and Pre-Law at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.

Miss Francis, a senior at Severn High School in Bowie, Maryland, plans to major in Nursing at Spelman College.

Since 2005, BECA, Inc. has consistently awarded scholarships to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities across various disciplines, including Healthcare and Nursing, Journalism and Communications, and Criminal Justice and Political Science.

Congratulations Ladies.

Today, the state of South Carolina formally celebrates its eight Historically Black Colleges & Universities. Created via House Bill 4576, sponsored by a bi-partisan group of lawmakers, led by , the third Tuesday in February honors all eight of these historic institutions. This observance recognizes their legacy, leadership, and lasting impact on generations.
