The Dead Music Capital Band came to Anderson today! 🎺🥁 (can you spot Principal Lancaster?)

Fun fact: Principal Lancaster (and his wife!) are members of the band! What a fun surprise to have them perform on campus today.

They’ll also be performing this weekend at HONK!TX, a really unique music festival here in Austin. It’s a once-a-year celebration of community street bands with groups coming from all over the country—and the best part? It’s completely FREE!

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, HONK!TX is a great way to experience all kinds of music and the energy of live street bands throughout Austin. 🎶

Huge Congratulations to Ofelia Diaz!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Ofelia Diaz for being recognized as Food Services Staff of the Year Finalist by Austin Independent School District!

Every single day, Ofelia brings dedication, kindness, and a warm smile to our campus. She helps keep our students fueled, welcomed, and ready to learn. Her hard work behind the scenes makes a BIG difference in the lives of our students and staff.

And if that wasn’t impressive enough — our cafeteria has earned a perfect score of 100 on the last 14 health inspections in a row! 💯 That kind of consistency takes serious commitment to cleanliness, organization, and pride in the work she does every single day.

This recognition is so well deserved, and we are lucky to have her as part of our school family!

Please join us in congratulating Ofelia on this amazing honor!

Congratulations to Kaidence Glenn on being selected for the Inspirational Teacher Award by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, presented by Hattie B’s!
In her honor, our staff was treated to a delicious lunch featuring Nashville hot chicken, and our campus received a generous $500 donation in Kaidence’s name. What an incredible way to celebrate a teacher who makes such a meaningful impact every day.

We are beyond proud of Kaidence and grateful for this special recognition of the difference she makes for our students and school community.

And if you haven’t tried Hattie B’s yet… consider this your sign! 🔥 The Nashville hot chicken was a hit, and we highly recommend checking them out.

Congratulations again on this well-deserved honor!
