We've seen the leaf piles growing! Here's what you need to know.
Fall has arrived and so has one of Public Works’ busiest seasons!
Leaf collection in Washington Township is scheduled to begin next Monday, October 26, starting with Route 1 and then continuing through each route. Since most leaves are still on the trees, crews will move quickly through routes at first. They typically make 4-5 passes through each route until all leaves are picked up.
How can you help?
đź’» Check www.washingtontwp.org/leaves so you know your route.
🍂 Rake leaves to the edge of the street (not on the street).
✔️ Long narrow piles are best so they can be reached from the street.
❌ Do not bag leaves.
🪵 Keep leaf piles free of sticks and other yard debris. These piles will not be picked up.
đź’¦ Keep piles away from storm drains and parked cars.
🤸‍♂️ Do not allow children to play in leaf piles.
🚗 Avoid parking on or near leaf piles. It’s difficult for crews to work around vehicles.
