If you have not done so, please do!
In the midst of enormous disruption to every aspect of our lives and immeasurable suffering and grief, we have experienced victories of spirit, caring, compassion, adapting, and creativity.
Wishing good health, less of the -isms, more respect, compassion, hope, promise, justice, and peace in 2021 for us all.
Happy New Year!

2020 has given each of us a unique set of challenges, and the holiday season is in line with the unusual nature of the last nine months. Now is a great time to think about all for which we can be thankful, rather than thinking about that which we may be missing.
Regardless of how, when, or where we all are, let’s remember to mask up, wash our hands often, and stay six feet away from others (think “stranger danger 2020 version”). While this year's celebrations may be a lot smaller and look a little different, there are plenty of traditions we can still count on (at a distance) and new safe ones we can create.
Happy (and safe) Thanksgiving to all!

Dear Friends,
Many people fought and died for my right to vote. I take this right seriously. I hope you have registered and voted early or that you will vote today.
On this election day and in a year of unprecedented challenges to life itself, we face extreme division and uncertainty about our future as a nation. I am dismayed by the rumors of possible social unrest after this election. I never imagined such.
We are each entitled to our unique perspective on this situation. Understanding another's view requires openness and genuine interest but does not require agreement. Whatever the problem, there is usually enough blame to go around. Building and maintaining positive relationships based on compassion, support, encouragement, understanding, empathy, and hope will take us through this unusually contentious time. Hate and violence are not part of the solution.
Children learn what they live. They are always watching what we say, what we do, and where we stand during difficult times.
Let us continue to model compassion, patience, and respect for ourselves and others. Doing so will offer our children insight into how to govern themselves with civility when they encounter adversity in the future.
Congratulations to Mr. Dawson of Jenkins High!
