Help us name your new park✏️

Today we celebrated the opening of a brand-new pocket park located off Senter Rd. and nestled between Serenade Way and Diamond Heights Dr. This little park has plenty to offer, it just needs a name!

Help us decide on what that new name should be and visit bit.ly/senterserenade-naming to cast your vote. The survey closes on Friday, December 20, 2024.

At this year's City of San José Business Appreciation Awards, we proudly recognized two outstanding businesses from our District 2 community.

Legacy Business Award (30+ years in San Jose): Tammy Lariz - Play N Learn Preschool

Play N Learn Preschool has been educating children in South San Jose for over 30 years. This preschool is a family owned and operated childcare facility that has provided a warm and caring atmosphere for children and families. Thier curriculum is balanced to ensure that children grow and develop while being challenged intellectuality. The preschool cares for and educates children as young as six months old up to 12 years old in their varying programs. Childcare and quality learning are key to our communities, and Play N’ Learn Preschool has been instrumental in providing much needed services to families across South San Jose.

Small Business of the Year: Arun & Preeti Singh - Bossman's Pizza

In addition to serving up delicious, high-quality pizza, Bossman’s has been a great community partner. They open up the restaurant for neighborhood associations and community meetings. Additionally, Arun and his spouse Preeti have supported various community events and clean up efforts.

With the recent resignation of Councilmember Omar Torres, it is crucial that constituent services and representation of District 3 residents be addressed and restored as soon as possible. It is my perspective that an appointment is the best approach -- it is the most cost effective and quick solution.

San Jose Councilmember Sergio Jimenez is calling for an appointment to replace disgraced colleague Omar Torres, whose recent arrest and resignation could have business and labor interests dueling to tip the City Council's balance of power.

BeautifySJ’s RV Pollution Prevention Program (RVP3) provides essential sanitary services to residents living in RVs, helping prevent contamination, protect waterways, and support a cleaner community.

From July to October this year, RVP3 safely disposed of over 70,000 pounds of biowaste. Initially launched as a pilot in FY 23-24 and fully implemented in FY 24-25, RVP3 is part of BeautifySJ’s efforts to support unhoused residents while reducing the impact of encampments on our community.
