Last evening marked the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Riverside’s new courtyard, Riverbear Grove.

We would like to express our profound gratitude to the Riverside PTO. This beautiful transformation was fully envisioned, planned, and funded by their organization. Thanks to their commitment to our school community, our students now have a vibrant outdoor space to learn, gather, and enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone, and a huge shoutout to our PTO for turning a big dream into a beautiful reality!

Don't forget! Tomorrow is "Walk & Wheel Wednesday"! We want to encourage students to walk, ride their bike, scooter, etc., or ride the bus to school every Wednesday. 🚶‍♀️🚶🏽‍♂️🚌 🛴 🚲

The effort is to help build awareness of safe routes while encouraging community connections with families. By taking mass action, students will raise their visibility among drivers and create safer streets for themselves and other walkers and bikers.

Congratulations to the staff and students at Riverside Elementary School for winning the Spring Power Down for Popcorn competition. Under the leadership of Peter Beck, the Riverside Green Team and the after-school student club, EchoClub, campaigned for change through posters, flyers, loudspeaker announcements, and class discussions about where electricity comes from and things to do to conserve it. These efforts helped Riverside reduce its energy usage by 17%!

To celebrate this achievement, staff and students will be treated to a popcorn party, courtesy of Sustainable Princeton.

Princeton Middle School students were able to visit a Holocaust museum right in their own building.

Thanks to a grant from the Mark Schonwetter Holocaust Education Foundation, ELA teacher Jennifer Hegland brought a traveling exhibit from the Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education to the Princeton Middle School Learning Commons.

The exhibit—"Resilience During the Holocaust: Children, Families & Communities"—featured powerful informational posters and personal story cards detailing the hardships and incredible resilience of Holocaust survivors.

Special thanks to the PMS librarian Carolyn Bailey for curating a series of books to accompany this exhibit, and to all the teachers who guided their students through this impactful experience.
