Welcome Back to CNATTU Oceana! ⚓✈️

CNATTU Oceana was honored to welcome home a familiar face! We recently hosted retired LCDR Joel Vargas, former CNATT Training Officer and current Military Affairs Representative with USAA’s Senior Membership & Growth Office.

In a fantastic show of support for our mission, Mr. Vargas brought a distinguished delegation of USAA leadership with him, including Dan Griffiths, USAA Chief Information Officer, along with several of the company's Executive and Senior Vice Presidents.

Our Executive Officer, CDR Douglas Kesterson, led Mr. Vargas and the executive team on an in-depth tour of our training spaces. The visit was a great opportunity to showcase the command’s ongoing mission to develop and deliver highly skilled, warfighting-ready naval aviation technicians to the fleet.

Thank you, Mr. Vargas, Mr. Griffiths, and the entire USAA leadership team for visiting our command and for your outstanding, continued support of our military community!

⚓ CNATTU Oceana welcomes the Navy’s newest Chief Petty Officers to the Mess! ⚓

Over the past six weeks, these Sailors have been challenged, strengthened, and prepared to take on the tremendous responsibility that comes with wearing the anchors.

Last night, they were tried, tested, and then finally ACCEPTED! Today, they proudly stand as Chief Petty Officers of the United States Navy and members of the Chiefs Mess.

Congratulations to our newest Chiefs on this incredible milestone. Wear your anchors with pride, lead from the front, and never forget the Sailors who will look to you for leadership, mentorship, and example.

Welcome to the Mess, Chiefs!

"We Will Never Forget."

This morning, our Sailors, Marines, Chief Petty Officer Selectees, Chiefs Mess, and Officers assembled in Dress Whites during morning colors, with our shipmates and first responders at NAS Oceana, to pay tribute to the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

As the National Ensign was hoisted, we stood united in solemn remembrance of the tragic events in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania—and the brave first responders and service members who answered the call in our nation's darkest hour.

We carry their legacy forward every day through our service, our readiness, and our commitment to defending freedom around the globe.
