Guests at the art exhibit reception for "Collected Moments" by Michele Silvetti-Schmitt shared their admiration for the exhibition, describing the artwork as beautiful, gorgeous, and truly jaw-dropping. Attendees were especially drawn to the suspended pieces, the three-dimensional installations, and the paintings, noting how the shadows cast on the walls added another captivating layer to the work. They also appreciated the thoughtful, expressive titles, including Moment of Delight. Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their enthusiasm for this remarkable collection!

Hey, who are you calling an errant onion-eyed moldwarp?!?

The insults flew at this year's Shakespeare Fest—but 'twas all in good fun, ever in jest, just as we like it. Heartily we thank the almost 40 patrons who came out to Maze Branch to celebrate all things Shakespeare with us, our highest-ever turnout for this annual event!

Highlights:
- The ever-popular open mic, featuring three enthusiastic middle schoolers who acted out a scene onstage for the audience.
- The make-your-own flower crown station (we ran out of flowers!).
- The insults, which flew merrily thanks to Fool Brent's Bard-O-Matic Shakespearean insult generator, a favorite feature since our very first fest.
- All the costumes! Patrons and staff embraced the occasion by dressing as their favorite Shakespearean characters (check out the amazing Cleopatra!).

Huge kudos to Patron Services Supervisor Michelle Springer and her team for all their hard work, creativity, and dedication in making Shakespeare Fest such a memorable event.

Get your free guide to Cook County judicial elections from Injustice Watch!

Last week, Injustice Watch Senior Reporter Dan Hinkel (pictured on the right, with Civic Literacy Librarian Simon Czerwinskyj on the left) gave a talk at the Main Library about the importance of being informed on judicial elections and how the journalism nonprofit goes about creating this nonpartisan guide.

You can pick up a print copy at the library and get the guide online from Injustice Watch as well. And as Dan told us, you can take the guide into the voting booth with you!

to our Cricut Workshop: Summer Reading T-Shirt, where attendees of all ages brought their own shirt and turned their summer reading lists into custom shirt designs in the Creative Studio Makery. After creating and cutting their designs with the Cricut, they used the heat press to put their favorite summer reads, or summer-like designs right on their shirts.

A fun way to wrap up and celebrate summer reading!

How sparkling can you be?

In last week's Craft Corner we made collage cards using old books, magazines, fun paper, and embellishments. Craft Corner is an all-ages, intergenerational program that brings the community together to create projects throughout the year. With a focus on using different materials and upcycling when possible, each craft is designed to appeal to kids, teens, and adults.

Look for more Craft Corner events coming this winter!
