Heart-centered work of helping children heal from the impacts of parental incarceration.

THE NEED FOR AVARY

Research tells us that children whose parents have been incarcerated:

-May show signs of depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder
-Are more likely to end up in juvenile detention than their peers
-Struggle in school and experience higher dropout rates
-Are at higher risk for drug and alcohol addiction and teen parenthood
-Can be distrustful of adults and authority
-Often experience abuse and/or neglect
-Are 3x more likely to become homeless

We want to bring Project Avary to a place near you. The best way to reach children worldwide who have been impacted by incarceration is through our online programming.

Children can join and connect with other youth who have lived through similar circumstances right from the comfort of their own home.

Over 10 million children have been impacted by parental incarceration and we want to service as many as possible. Where should we host a camp next? đź‘€

Our annual teen outing was amazing. Avary is usually a tech free experience, but we wanted to reward of all our hard working teens for their contributions to leadership in our space. Should we do this again? 📱 🤔
