Young Volunteer Duan Youxuan — Building a Bridge of Technology and Culture for ACC Children

https://youtu.be/-qWxmCdHIK8?si=Lb6Uwvlc_k-_eZYN

During her short but meaningful one-month service, Youxuan used her professional skills and passion to create a forward-looking impact at ACC:
Planting the Seeds of AI and Technology
Youxuan not only helped ACC teachers learn how to use AI technology to support lesson planning and teaching, but also guided the children from the very beginning in learning composition, photography, and video editing.
Breaking Cultural Barriers, Sharing Love and Laughter
In their daily interactions, she patiently listened as the children shared their stories in Mandarin Chinese, even when they were still unfamiliar with the language, and responded with understanding, patience, and the warmest embraces.
Extending ACC’s Care into the Local Community (NCP)
Following ACC’s mission of compassion, Youxuan also stepped beyond the campus and joined ACC’s Neighbourhood Care Points (NCPs), helping distribute essential supplies and supporting thousands of local children and caregivers.
She helped extend ACC’s love and care from within the campus into every corner of the surrounding communities.
We thought we were the ones coming here to give love, but in the end, we were the ones who received the most love.
As Youxuan reflected in her documentary, the children of ACC responded to this love that travelled more than 10,000 kilometres with their most sincere smiles and 100% wholehearted participation.
We sincerely thank Youxuan for her dedication, effort, and loving companionship with the children of ACC Eswatini.
The seeds of love, knowledge, technology, and friendship that she has planted will surely take root, blossom, and flourish in the years to come!

Part 2
Behind the Drums

Behind the grand stage of “Lights Across the Sky: A China–Malawi Symphony” Gala for the Year of People-to-People Exchanges & the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China were days of practice, laughter, and precious memories.

From countless rehearsals to the final moments at BICC, our young performers gave their best — while enjoying every moment together.

Beyond the drums and applause, what remains are the smiles, friendships, and memories they will carry with them.

The stage may have ended, but their memories have only begun.

“Learning Through Language, Learning Through Joy” — A Brilliant Celebration of Achievement | Laughter, Creativity and Love Warmed Our Winter
On a cool August winter day, we welcomed one of the most vibrant and heartwarming learning showcases!
Our heartfelt thanks go to the four outstanding and energetic volunteer teachers from the Haihua Cultural and Educational Foundation — Yi-Hsuan Lin, Yu-Hsuan Huang, Yi-Ting Lin, and Yi-Ting Huang.
For nearly two months, the four teachers generously shared their knowledge, patiently guided the children, and accompanied them every step of the way. They transformed language learning into engaging lessons filled with laughter, creativity, and joy. All their hard work and dedication truly came to life during Thursday afternoon’s final showcase, earning enthusiastic applause and cheers from everyone in attendance!
A Spectacular Idiom Theatre
After nearly two months of training, the children not only became more fluent and confident in speaking, but also demonstrated remarkable confidence and stage presence.
Four classic Chinese idiom stories were creatively adapted and brought to life by the children, each filled with humor, imagination, and personality.
In “Drawing a Snake and Adding Feet,” the children cleverly incorporated a hilarious local joke about “Fei Qiu,” creating funny moments that had the audience laughing uncontrollably.
“Rising Early to Practice Martial Arts After Hearing the Rooster Crow” featured a wonderfully playful rooster soundtrack and the hilarious entrance of the “Dancing Rooster,” instantly filling the room with laughter and excitement.
“Mencius’ Mother Moves Three Times” was full of dramatic twists and turns — from the heartwarming story of the family moving three times, to the emotionally powerful scene of the five sons mourning at their father’s grave, followed by the thrilling chase involving the butcher and the little pig, and finally the children diligently studying at school. Their enthusiastic performances brought the story vividly to life.
And “The Blind Men and the Elephant” was a wonderful display of creativity! The children used cardboard boxes to create a remarkably lifelike elephant head and body, combined with a modern, cool look featuring sunglasses for the blind men. They transformed this classic story into something fresh, fun, and memorable — perfectly demonstrating the joy of learning through play!
Two Young Hosts Who Owned the Stage
Our two young hosts were confident, poised, and impressively articulate. They showed no signs of nervousness in front of the audience.
With their lively hosting style and smooth, natural pacing, they became two of the most eye-catching highlights of the entire event. Their performance also gave everyone a wonderful glimpse of how much the children had grown in both communication skills and self-confidence.
Seamless Teamwork On and Behind the Stage
A successful showcase is about much more than what happens on stage. It also depends on the dedication and teamwork of everyone working behind the scenes.
The backstage area was well organized, while the front-of-house team guided guests smoothly and courteously. From welcoming the audience and changing scenes to transitioning between performances, everyone worked together with remarkable coordination.
What appeared effortless on the surface was actually the result of countless thoughtful efforts by the children, teachers, and staff.
A Heartwarming Exhibition of Learning
Alongside the wonderful stage performances, a carefully arranged exhibition showcased the children’s learning achievements from the past two months, transforming their learning experiences into tangible and beautiful creations.
One of the most touching highlights was the “Caregiver Course.” The course creatively combined shapes, colors, and emotional expression through art, allowing the caregivers to express their feelings through their own creations.
When they saw their handmade works beautifully displayed, their faces lit up with pride and joy. They gathered around the exhibition area, excitedly admiring their creations and sharing their happiness with one another.
The entire exhibition was filled with a wonderful sense of achievement, pride, and joy.
The Performance May End, But the Friendship Continues
The grand showcase came to a beautiful conclusion, but it also quietly reminded us that the time to say goodbye was drawing near.
On August 29, our four teachers will begin their journeys onward — some returning to Taipei, while others will continue their travels in South Africa.
Although we have shared only two short months, those days have already created deep and meaningful bonds. And so, as the time of departure approaches, our hearts are filled with gratitude, love, and more than a little sadness.
Once again, our deepest thanks to Yi-Hsuan, Yu-Hsuan, Yi-Ting, and Yi-Ting for bringing your passion, dedication, and educational expertise to ACC.
During this winter season, you have given our children a warm, meaningful, and enriching learning experience that they will remember for a long time to come.
Thank you for giving them more than words and stories.
You taught them to be brave enough to step onto a stage, confident enough to express themselves, and joyful enough to discover that learning can be exciting, creative, and full of happiness!
May the four of you continue your journeys carrying with you the love, blessings, and beautiful memories of all the children at ACC.
May your journeys be filled with success, bright opportunities, and wonderful new adventures!
And we sincerely hope that one day, you will return to this place filled with laughter and love — to see our children again and to revisit the beautiful memories we created together.
Dear teachers, ACC will always welcome you home!

Cross-Cultural Musical Theatre Winter Camp: A Glimpse Behind the Scenes
The two-month winter vacation at Amitofo Care Center Education Development Programs School has brought boundless energy and vitality to our normally peaceful campus! High-quality educational groups from different parts of the world have been arriving one after another, creating one exciting and enriching learning experience after another for our children.
And right now, our International Theatre Directing Team is in full swing, filling the campus with enthusiasm and creativity! This remarkable cross-cultural artistic collaboration features an outstanding team of instructors:
The Body-Language Magician — Lily from Hong Kong:
Through engaging drama training centered on expressive body language, Lily patiently guides the children step by step to break free from shyness and restraint. They learn to tell stories with every muscle, movement, and facial expression, allowing their inner passion for performance to shine.
The Musical Guide — Marc from Australia:
With his fingers dancing gracefully across the piano keys, Marc fills the room with beautiful and moving melodies. Through patient guidance, he teaches the children how to pronounce words accurately, control their breathing, and project their voices, transforming their innocent and lively young voices into beautiful, angelic singing.
These two masterful instructors have joined forces with wonderful chemistry and teamwork, leading the children toward an ambitious goal — to create an original musical that will touch hearts and captivate audiences!
During the classes, the children’s eyes sparkle with concentration and eagerness as they absorb every bit of professional knowledge like sponges. Even when the class bell rings, their enthusiasm does not fade. They naturally gather together, going over their lines and rehearsing their songs again and again with great dedication.
Every drop of sweat and every moment of hard work is for one special purpose: to capture their brightest moment at the final performance on August 30.
Stay tuned! Our children are ready to amaze the audience and deliver a truly unforgettable performance with their purest passion, boundless energy, and extraordinary talent!

Lights Across the Sky: A China–Malawi Symphony
Gala for the Year of People-to-People Exchanges & the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China
On the evening of 21 August 2026, our ACC Lilongwe Percussion Ensemble Young Talents were honoured to be invited by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malawi to grace this grand occasion at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC).
Ten of our young performers, aged but 12 to 13, stood before a great gathering beneath the evening sky and gave forth Hoo-Daiko with strength, spirit and youthful fire.
Though their term break had begun, the children willingly shortened their family holiday, returned to ACC, and prepared themselves once more to give their very best.
We remain profoundly grateful to have been chosen as one of only three performing groups, among the many gifted arts groups in Malawi. Such an honour is one we shall never take for granted.
Our deepest gratitude goes to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malawi for extending this distinguished invitation and giving our young talents the opportunity to share their music upon such a remarkable stage.
Last evening was more than a performance; it was a moment when our young ones stood upon a greater stage, carrying with them the spirit of ACC.
For this opportunity, we remain ever grateful.

A journey of life that crossed the Indian Ocean and connected Africa with Southeast Asia came to a warm conclusion in Singapore.
The Singapore stop of “The 2026 Southeast Asia Aspiration Africa – Madagascar ACC Gratitude Journey” was successfully held on July 12. For the first time, the children from Madagascar ACC in Africa took to the stage in the form of a musical theatre performance. They transformed the many moments of growing up at ACC, their life stories of encountering and connecting with the Dharma, and the love and gratitude they have experienced along the way into moving scenes on stage, offering them to the sponsors, supporters, and kind-hearted members of the public who have cared for and supported ACC throughout the years.
This was not merely a performance. It was a group of children from Africa who crossed thousands of mountains and miles to come to Singapore with their most sincere hearts, simply to say “Thank you” to the many people who have helped them and accompanied them as they grew.

Madagascar is thousands of kilometres from Singapore. To many people, it is a distant and unfamiliar island nation in Africa. But for the children of ACC, it is the place where their lives began to change.
In the past, they may have experienced hardship and uncertainty. Today, through the education and care provided by ACC, they have opportunities to learn, as well as dreams, a stage, and the possibility of rediscovering themselves.
On stage, the children told their own stories of growth through singing, dancing, and music. Behind every smile, every line of song, and every movement lies a genuine chapter of their lives.
What they presented was not merely a “performance,” but a journey of growth—from unfamiliarity toward hope, from being recipients of help to learning how to give thanks.

The 2026 Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia) Aspiration Africa – Gratitude Journey has now officially come to a joyful and successful conclusion, with all the children safely and smoothly returning to the ACC in Madagascar.
Although it may seem that we have now gone our separate ways, our hearts will always remain connected.
For the 18 children, this extraordinary and precious two-month journey of gratitude is not an ending, but the true beginning of learning and transformation!
Our heartfelt thanks to all the Dharma masters, sponsoring fathers and mothers, and Bodhisattva fathers and mothers! Because of your encouragement and support, the children were able to experience a loving environment where they could broaden their horizons, gain new experiences, and open their eyes to the wider world.
We may not be the best, but we will certainly work hard to become better!
Keep going! Keep going! Keep going!!!
