Trans4mational Tidbits

Good morning, Friends. Today is Wednesday, September 30, 2026 — National Love People Day.

Have you heard????

We can care deeply about someone and still get ahead of them. We hear part of their story and begin planning what we would do. Soon we are offering answers to a question they have not asked. Love slows us down long enough to hear the whole thought. We can ask what matters to them and what kind of support they want. That gives them room to speak for themselves and gives us a better way to show up.
Be-Do-Have:

Be attentive to the person in front of you.
Do ask what kind of support they want.
Have a clearer way to care.

Now it’s your turn. Where might you be offering an answer before you have heard what someone is asking?

Listen before you decide what love should look like.

Good morning, Friends. Today is Monday, September 28, 2026, National Good Neighbor Day and National Family Day.

Have you heard????

Picture the eight homes closest to yours. How many people living there can you name? What have you learned by talking with them? The questions begin on our street, but they do not end there. We can live beside someone without knowing their story, and we can share a family name while losing touch across the miles. Family names a bond. Neighbor names a responsibility that reaches beyond our street. When we listen, we learn what matters to someone. Then we can respond with ordinary acts of care, again and again.

Be–Do–Have Challenge:

Be attentive to the people around you.
Do start a conversation and follow up.
Have connections that reach beyond a name or an address.

Now it’s your turn:

Who in your family or daily life could you get to know better, and what conversation could you begin this week?

A name or an address tells us where to start. Listening shows us how to care.

Good morning, Friends. Today is Tuesday, September 29, 2026 — National Silent E Day and National
Coffee Day.

Have you heard????

A silent "e" makes no sound, but it can change how we read a word. It stays on the page, doing its work quietly. The coffee bean is a seed that grows inside a coffee cherry. The fruit surrounds it as it develops, then is removed before the bean reaches our cup. One remains; the other is gone. We can overlook either because neither draws attention to its part. That happens in our lives, too. Some contributions are still beside us. Others have already done their work. Both can shape what comes next.

Be-Do-Have

Be grateful for what you did not accomplish alone.
Do name one quiet contribution; thank the person if you can.
Have a clearer sense of how to pass their contribution on.

Now it’s your turn: Whose quiet work is still shaping your life, and how will you honor it?

Quiet work leaves a mark

Good morning, friends. Today is Friday, September 18th, National Bamboo Day.

Have you heard?

Bamboo is strong because it’s flexible. When the pressure comes, it bends without losing what keeps it grounded.

There’s a lesson in that. Sometimes we treat flexibility as if it means giving in, but adapting and compromising are not the same thing. Flexibility changes how we respond. Compromise gives up something we should have held on to.

Maturity is knowing the difference. It means being secure enough in what matters that everything else does not have to remain rigid.

Be–Do–Have Challenge

Be rooted in what matters.
Do adapt where you can.
Have the discernment to know the difference.

Now it’s your turn: Where do you need flexibility without compromise?

Maturity is flexibility without compromise.

Good morning, Friends. Today is Wednesday, September 16, 2026 — National Stepfamily Day.

Have you heard????

Stepfamilies remind us that being brought together as a family does not make us family. It only gives us the name. Becoming family takes time, adjustment, and intention as different histories, habits, expectations, and traditions learn to share a life. The same can be true of communities. We can share a name, space, church, neighborhood, team, or purpose without having built the relationships and belonging that make us an us. Proximity can bring us together. Building community requires us to do the work of belonging.

Be–Do–Have Challenge:

Be committed to becoming the us our name says we are.
Do the intentional work of building community.
Have a family or community built on purpose, not proximity.

Now it’s your turn: Where in your life have people been brought together but still need to build the belonging that will make them a community?

Becoming us is the real work of family and community.

Good morning, Friends. Today is Tuesday, September 15, 2026 — World Afro Day and a day to remember the Four Little Girls of Birmingham.

**Have you heard????**

An Afro grows naturally, yet people have been told to straighten it, tame it, or change it to fit someone else’s standard. Sixty-three years ago today, four little Black girls were killed because racial hatred had decided their difference made them less worthy. Devaluing someone is not the same as hating them, but hatred finds fertile ground wherever we allow difference to determine worth. We contribute to that devaluing when we require others to shrink their intelligence, vocabulary, competence, ambition, cultural expression, convictions, or gifts to keep us comfortable.

**Be–Do–Have Challenge:**

**Be** confident enough to encounter difference without feeling threatened by it.
**Do** challenge an expectation that asks someone to shrink who they are for your comfort.
**Have** relationships where difference is valued rather than diminished.

**Now it’s your turn:** Where might your comfort be requiring someone else to become smaller?

**Belonging should never require us to leave pieces of ourselves outside the door.**

Good morning, Friends. Today is Sunday, September 13, 2026 — Grandparents Day and Bald Is Beautiful Day.

Have you heard????

The grandparents who shape us leave more than stories, traditions, and family names. Through their love, they show us what it means to be seen and accepted. Bald Is Beautiful Day adds a playful reminder that there is freedom in standing uncovered and unashamed. When love makes room for our whole selves, we gain the courage to live openly. That courage becomes part of the legacy we carry forward. We honor that love by living boldly and making room for others to do the same.

Be–Do–Have Challenge:

Be open enough to be known.
Do share one honest story with someone you love.
Have a deeper relationship built on truth.

Now it’s your turn: What part of your story could give someone you love permission to live more openly and boldly?

Love becomes legacy when it gives another generation the courage to live boldly.

Good morning, Friends. Today is Thursday, September 10, 2026 — National Swap Ideas Day.

Have you heard????

We may see more than anyone else in the room, but none of us can see more than all of us together. That is why swapping ideas matters. We each bring what we see, and the exchange gives us access to something we did not have before. We do not have to surrender our perspective or compete to prove whose idea is best. We simply have to be willing to put our ideas into the exchange. When we exchange ideas, we expand what we can see.

Be–Do–Have Challenge:

Be confident enough to contribute and open enough to receive.
Do exchange an idea with someone whose perspective is different from yours.
Have a broader view because you now have access to more than your perspective alone.

Now it’s your turn: Whose perspective might expand your thinking if you invited it into the conversation?

When we exchange ideas, we expand what we can see.

Good morning, Friends. Today is Tuesday, September 8, 2026 — the 60th anniversary of Star Trek.

Have you heard????

When Star Trek first aired, it invited people to see a future different from the one they knew. A future where people of different races, cultures, and nations worked together, where handheld communicators connected people across distances, and where computers responded to spoken commands. That is the power of vision. When we only see what already exists, what exists sets the limits of what seems possible. Imagination opens choices, pathways, and possibilities that were invisible when the present was our only reference point.

Be–Do–Have Challenge:

Be willing to see beyond what is already there.
Do make choices that give shape to what you can see.
Have a future shaped by more than what is visible today.

Now it’s your turn: What might become possible if you stopped limiting your vision to what you can see right now?

The more you begin to see what you cannot yet see, the more what you cannot see begins to become what you see.

Good morning, Friends. Today is Monday, September 7, 2026 — National Neither Snow Nor Rain Day.

Have you heard????

The familiar words associated with the U.S. Postal Service remind us that neither snow nor rain nor difficult conditions automatically cancel the delivery. It is easy to honor a commitment when the weather cooperates. But commitments are not made only for sunny days. Eventually, something becomes inconvenient, uncomfortable, or harder than we expected, and that difficulty starts making a case for why we should stop.

Be–Do–Have Challenge:

Be someone whose commitments are not governed by convenience.
Do what your commitment requires, even when conditions get harder.
Have the consistency that turns a promise into something others can trust.

Now it’s your turn: Where have difficult conditions started making decisions for you?

“Commitment becomes real when inconvenience no longer gets to make the decision for us.”
