Wann Fire Department

09/01/2026

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all of the firefighters and fire departments who responded to assist with today’s fires. Your willingness to respond, work together, and lend a helping hand was truly appreciated!

A special shout-out and thank you to the Nowata Fire Chief for stepping up, taking command of the scene, and coordinating the responding units to ensure everyone was strategically dispersed and the fires were brought under control.

Things were a little chaotic in the beginning, but watching everyone come together, communicate, and work as a team was something to be proud of. It’s moments like these that remind us how important teamwork and mutual support are in our communities.

Thank you to everyone who answered the call today. Your dedication, professionalism, and teamwork did not go unnoticed! 🚒🔥👏

Washington County Commissioners have issued a BURN BAN effective immediately. Please see the attached resolution for exemptions and requirements.

Near critical to critical fire weather danger continues today and Thursday. Fire weather conditions will expand eastward across a larger part of Oklahoma as high winds combine with low humidity across most of the state. A Red Flag Warning is in effect again today.

Please continue to postpone any burning or activities that could spark a wildfire.
