"We're not a theocracy."

That's true, and it's the argument Christians keep hearing for why we should accept Amendment 3's exceptions. At Monday's debate at Mizzou Law, Sen. Joe Nicola said it plainly: we live in a representative republic, and complete abolition "is not an option in this election."

But not being a theocracy doesn't mean Christians set God's law aside when we vote. If God's standard binds my conduct, it binds my ballot.

In our new article we look at:

• Why Amendment 3 isn't ordinary incrementalism. It writes into our Constitution that abortion "may be performed or induced" depending on how a child was conceived or what his diagnosis is.
• What Saul, Aaron, and Romans 3:8 teach about doing evil that good may come.
• Why "impossible" hasn't been tested. The Missouri Senate has never brought a personhood amendment to the floor for a vote.
• The incremental step we could have supported: repeal the 2024 amendment and stop there.

God never asked His people to guarantee outcomes. He asked them to be faithful.

God doesn’t ask us to guarantee outcomes. He asks us to be faithful. Answering the claim that pluralism means Christians must accept Amendment 3’s exceptions.

Republicans are telling us the only way to stop socialism is to vote Republican.

But here’s what happened in 2025, with Republicans controlling the White House, the House, and the Senate:

🔹 The U.S. fell from 2nd to 16th in the world for least government control of the economy, one of the sharpest one-year drops since 2005
🔹 Washington took ownership stakes in private companies: $29.9 billion across 43 deals, including 10% of Intel
🔹 A “golden share” lets the government veto decisions at U.S. Steel
🔹 Chipmakers now pay the government 15% of certain sales

Some of the sharpest critics are conservatives. Sen. Rand Paul called it “a step toward socialism.”

And it isn’t only in Washington. In Jefferson City, our own tracker shows the “R” next to a legislator’s name often tells you nothing about how they vote.

We’re not telling you how to vote. We’re asking you to vote on principle, and hold every candidate to the same standard.
