Leadership comes in All Sizes. We Simply Hire the Best!

Worried you’re too tall? Don’t be... It won’t keep you from getting hired, and it definitely won’t keep you from getting promoted.

Around here, leadership isn’t measured by height. It’s measured by character, work ethic, integrity, and the willingness to serve others. A great fire department is built on great people.

If you’re looking for a career with purpose, a team that has your back, and a culture that’s second to none, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications close tomorrow at 4:00 PM. Don’t miss your chance. Apply today!

At about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, the FDNY responded to 2926 West 25th Street in Brooklyn for a report of an apartment fire. Arriving units encountered heavy clutter conditions, which delayed their search.

Probationary Firefighter Matthew Adams (far left in the photo), of Ladder 166, eventually made his way into the apartment, located an occupant and removed the victim from the fire. The victim was transported to an area hospital. One firefighter suffered minor injuries.

Thirty-eight units totaling 120 fire and EMS personnel responded to the all-hands fire, which was brought under control in about one hour. We commend all responding members, including Probationary Firefighter Adams, for their commitment to protecting life and property in New York City.
