Memorial Day is more than a long weekend.
It's a solemn reminder of the families who received a folded flag, and the heroes who never came home.
We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.

Today’s decision by Governor Jared Polis to commute Tina Peters’ sentence is a long-overdue step toward justice.
Tina Peters, a proud Gold Star mother who lost her Navy SEAL son in service to our nation, dedicated election integrity advocate, and former Mesa County Clerk, was subjected to a politically charged prosecution that resulted in a nine-year sentence meant to make an example out of her.
I’m proud of the relentless pressure my office and I applied, working hand-in-hand with President Donald Trump, to highlight Tina’s case and demand fairness. This outcome would not have been possible without the continued pressure and advocacy from President Trump who always knew Tina deserved fairness under the law.
Tina will be released next month and return to her family and community. God bless Tina and all who fought tirelessly for her release.

I’m proud that my Rural Jobs and Hydropower Expansion Act passed out of Committee today with bipartisan support.
This is an important first step to get this vital legislation to the President’s desk.
Cutting red tape and unleashing new hydropower development will create good-paying rural jobs, lower energy costs for families and businesses, and strengthen our energy independence.

This week, I met with Federal Protective Service Director Faron K. Paramore to discuss the critical role FPS plays in keeping federal facilities safe and how we in Congress can help support their unique and vital mission.
FPS protects more than a million employees and visitors to federal facilities every day, and I’m grateful for all the men and women working to strengthen security and keep Americans safe.
