This year’s National Defense Authorization Act delivers real wins for Hampton Roads:

âś…Supports a 7% pay raise for our servicemembers
âś…Strengthens our shipbuilding and maritime industrial base
âś…Invests in our defense workforce
âś…Prioritizes the health, readiness, and retention of naval aviators

I look forward to joining House Armed Services Committee Republicans in the bill’s markup next week and advancing commonsense policies that support our servicemembers and strengthen military readiness…!

Last night we hosted our annual Service Academy Information Night at Landstown High School! Thank you to all of the representatives from our nation’s finest military academies and collegiate programs who came and spoke to students and their families. We are proud to support the next generation of leaders as they explore opportunities to serve our country through higher education and military service. We also held a moment of silence for Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, whose presence and leadership were dearly missed at this year’s event. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event a success!

Today, we remember the courage and bravery of the men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great nation. As Americans, we are grateful for their willingness to serve and we will never forget their actions. Take time this Memorial Day to remember and to appreciate those who have given so much in the name of freedom. 🇺🇸
