We, the Young Democrats of America National Environmental Caucus are proud to announce that during our Winter Quarterly Executive Board Meeting, we unanimously voted to endorse Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan for U.S. Senate.

Lieutenant Governor Flanagan has been a steadfast ally of Young Democrats and our Environmental Caucus, championing climate action, environmental justice, and youth leadership at every level of government.

In 2024, she supported our Youth Climate Voters Phone Bank, a national effort mobilizing young voters in partnership with Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign and Bill Nye the Science Guy, underscoring her commitment to science-based policy and civic engagement.

We are excited to stand with a candidate who understands that the climate crisis is not a future threat, it’s a present responsibility. Young voters are ready, and we’re organizing to win in 2026 through Climate Candidates like Peggy.

Due to inclement weather, Governor Beshear is closing all Executive Branch state office buildings Monday, January 26, 2026. Executive Branch agencies will continue to provide services to the citizens of the Commonwealth; therefore, essential employees designated for mandatory operations and those able to work remotely should continue to report for work.

Additionally, Governor Beshear encourages everyone to stay off the roads, stay warm, and check on at least one of your neighbors.

Yesterday, the Environmental Caucus of the Young Democrats of America was proud to submit comments to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin on the agency’s reconsideration of the 2009 Endangerment Finding and Greenhouse Gas Vehicle Standards.

We call on the EPA to uphold its legal and moral responsibility to safeguard the environment, public health, and economic stability for future generations.
