It was an honor to attend Memorial Day ceremonies throughout the district — in Naperville, St. Charles, Romeoville, and Bolingbrook — to pay tribute to our nation’s fallen heroes.
Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I was honored to be able to spend a few hours with Barney Frank and his husband Jim just a couple of weeks ago. Any time you talked to him you were reminded of how intelligent he was—and I also discovered we were both big Tom Lehrer fans!
Barney was my chairman when I was put on the Financial Services Committee as a newly elected Member of Congress, right before the global financial crisis hit. In the years after we passed Barney’s legislation, Dodd-Frank, the U.S. experienced no financial crises and the longest period of uninterrupted economic growth in our nation’s history. That’s one of the many legacies he’s left behind for the American people.
A true leader and a real friend.

Today, Democrats and Republicans in the House came together to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which delivers long overdue reforms to build more homes, lower housing costs, and help make the dream of homeownership a reality for more Americans.
At a time when too many families are struggling to afford a place to live, we have a real opportunity to make meaningful progress on the housing affordability crisis. I urge the Senate to act quickly and send this bill to the President’s desk.

This Administration wants to put $1.7 billion of your taxpayer dollars toward a slush fund for Trump's political allies and January 6 cop killers. It’s appalling.
To Trump, there’s always money for his criminal cronies, forever wars in the Middle East, and a personal ballroom — but not for healthcare or food assistance.
