INTERMEDIATE DRILL | Designed to deepen the ceremonial guardsman’s understanding of Air Force rifle drill beyond basics; Intermediate Drill includes many movements and techniques beyond tactical use, suitable for exhibitions, parades, and demonstrations.
Every movement can be executed from any position, in any combination, offering endless possibilities, such as the 27-count Manual Arms, or combination manuals like Trail-Rock-to-Left Shoulder, from Carry Arms.
Members are encouraged to develop new techniques and manuals, adhering to HGMAN 34-515 chapter 4 guidelines. At this level, at least one hand controls the weapon at all times. Only in Advanced Drill, specialized by Drill Team, will you throw or allow the weapon to leave both hands.
