This week, Ranking Member Maxine Waters joined Semafor, the Financial Technology Association (FTA) , and industry leaders for the “Banking on the Future Forum” to talk about the future of our financial system.
During the event, Ranking Member Waters made it clear that innovation means nothing without strong guardrails to hold big banks, Wall Street, and companies accountable and to protect consumers, workers, families, and their hard-earned money from financial abuse.

This week, the House passed with a vote of 396-13 Ranking Member Maxine Waters and Chairman Hill's resolution to amend the “21st Century Road to Housing Act,” a landmark bipartisan legislative package aimed at addressing the nationwide housing supply shortage and affordability crisis.

We thank all the Members and staff for their hard work on assembling this housing package and call on the Senate to do its part and send this bipartisan bill to the President’s desk.

Today, the House passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, a meaningful step toward addressing our housing affordability crisis.

I secured provisions to open federal housing programs to cooperatives and strengthen Congressional oversight of NYCHA's federal monitor.

The Senate should move quickly to pass this bill.
