BIG NEWS: United States Air Force selects Oklo Inc. microreactor to deliver reliable and secure power to Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska.
Oklo's 75 MWe Aurora powerhouse uses sodium-cooled fast reactor technology to provide resilient, 24/7 energy that can operate independently from the grid, making it well-suited to support critical infrastructure in remote locations. The company plans to deploy its first advanced reactor at Idaho National Laboratory as early as 2027.

E2C’s peer-learning cohorts are provided by the U.S. Department of Energy to convene local and regional governments, Tribes, and municipal and cooperative utilities from across the country to spend 6 months learning from energy experts—and each other—about best practices, strategies, and tools for approaching a specific energy topic.

Last month we participated in the launch of the Alaska Geothermal Working Group, supporting the Department of Energy’s work underway to compile and analyze geothermal resource assessment data in Alaska – inclusive of both shallow and deep geothermal resource types – and conduct a gap analysis for selected regions in Alaska. There’s great promise for the geothermal industry in the state.
