Had the DC Council not voted to push back until May 1, due to Congress meeting on more days than were originally published, the pay raises outlined in Initiative 82 would have gone into effect on February 23. Source: https://lims.dccouncil.gov/Legislation/B24-1149

According to the DC Council’s Legislative Information System, Initiative 82 was transmitted to Congress on January 10 and is projected to become law March 8, 2023. This means, as long as Congress maintains their current legislative schedule, on March 8, tipped workers in DC will get a 65¢ pay increase to $6 per hour. Their next pay raise will then take place on July 1, 2023 and will increase to $8 per hour. https://lims.dccouncil.gov/Legislation/B24-1149
