Marie Kruse recently received the 2026 Outstanding Teacher Award from Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom and the Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award from the National Agriculture in the Classroom organization. Ag educators play a critical role in our schools, and it was an honor for my team to present Marie with a flag and certificate in recognition of her accomplishments and passion for teaching future generations about the importance of agriculture. Congratulations!

This week, I met with farmers from southeastern Minnesota for lunch to discuss recent farm policy wins and ways I can continue to support and represent local agriculture needs in Congress. I always appreciate hearing directly from our producers!

Combined $13.3 million in federal funding fuels work on three Rochester projects 05/29/2026

The Rochester area recently received $13.3 million for community projects, including a $1.2 million federal investment I helped secure to construct a roundabout on 4th Street in Rochester. I recently visited the site to see the progress being made and the positive impact it will have on the community firsthand. I’m proud to support infrastructure investments that improve safety and strengthen southern Minnesota.

My legislation, the GRAIN DRY Act, was included in the 2026 Farm Bill to enhance farmers’ access to propane supplies. I joined Lakes Gas in Essig to get a better understanding of their propane fuel operations and hear how they work to supply the propane that folks in need for drying corn, heating barns and homes, and fueling school buses and fleet vehicles. We must continue federal oversight and enforcement, ensuring justice is served to those who defraud our taxpayer-funded programs.
