Congratulations to everyone who ran in the Army Ten-Miler last week! As always, our command proudly supported the race--and the rain didn't dampen our spirits! Our Soldiers from 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), The U.S. Army Fife and Drum Corps and The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” assisted by greeting racers at the Army Ten-Miler Expo and by supporting in many different ways on race day. From the Presidential Salute Battery signaling the start of each wave to our Soldiers and Civilians handing out water along the course and medals at the end, as well as our Military Police and Military Working Dogs creating a secure environment alongside our interagency partners, every member of our team helped make the race a great success!

For our feature, Soldiers from The U.S. Army Field Band serve up a tribute to Scotland's national dish: haggis. While in Edinburgh last month, Six-String Soldiers' own Master Sgt. Brandon Boron thought he would propose a new MRE flavor featuring his favorite Scottish delight. Would you try it?!

Last Friday, Soldiers from The U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), and The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” performed during a drumline battle at the Sergeant Major of the Army’s barbecue reception on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Virginia, Oct. 9, 2026. The reception was held in support of the 2026 U.S. Army Best Squad Competition, which brought together competing Soldiers and Army leadership during the competition’s National Capital Region recognition events. The performance showcased the musical precision, teamwork and traditions of both Army musical organizations while fostering camaraderie and esprit de corps among attendees.
