I had a wonderful time meeting with young men from in my DC office. I always appreciate the opportunity to hear from our next generation of leaders as they build the future they want to see.

Extremely honored to receive the
9-1-1 Impact Award for my work on the Next Gen 9-1-1 Act that modernizes our nation’s emergency communications systems. I’m deeply humbled to accept this recognition alongside so many dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to protect our communities every day. It was wonderful to be recognized alongside my colleagues & for this bipartisan work.
During today’s hearing, where we heard directly from American citizens harmed by ICE’s dangerous actions and mismanagement, my Republican colleagues couldn’t even be bothered to show up. If they believed in these policies, they would be able to defend them.

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin and Donald Trump have consistently undermined the Environmental Protection Agency. They’ve cancelled millions in grants that would have benefited Louisanans, reversed the endangerment finding, and made climate denial the new norm.
This , I introduced the ZELDIN Act with to restore accountability and ensure the EPA never turns its back on the communities it’s meant to protect.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Congressman David Scott, and my heart is with his family, staff, and the constituents he faithfully served. I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand his unwavering commitment to public service and his deep love for the people of Georgia.
In January, SAMHSA canceled $2 billion in funding for addiction and mental health programs. claims this was a “mistake” and tried to blame the Biden administration. We can’t afford “mistakes” that gamble with people’s lives or attempts to shift blame for poor governing. He should spend less time talking about raccoon parts and more time working for the American people.

Today, on the steps of Criminal District Court, the people showed up. Loud. Proud. Unshaken.
They came to stand with Calvin Duncan, who was duly elected by the people to serve as Clerk of Criminal Court.
SB 256 does NOT represent our democracy.
This legislation seeks to abolish an office before a duly elected official is even sworn in. The people have already spoken. To undo their will is to undermine the very foundation of our democracy.
What’s happening to Calvin Duncan is unconscionable and undemocratic.
We cannot pick and choose when we respect the will of the voters. Democracy does not work that way.
Today was a powerful reminder that when the people stand together, their voice cannot be ignored.

Did you know that Trump’s approval rating has fallen to a new low? The American people know that Donald Trump isn’t working for them, and they’re making it clear, with 63% of Americans disapproving. Families can barely afford to live, yet his war of choice in Iran is only making things worse. The American people deserve leadership that lowers costs and puts them first.

This 4/20, let’s recommit to fighting for equitable cannabis reform. Access to capital remains one of the biggest barriers to entry and to success in the cannabis industry. The CLIMB Act will address real-world, operational issues facing the cannabis industry and help open the sector to more small, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses. #420

Congratulations to Superintendent Dr. Fateama Fulmore on completing her first year in the role. She is doing incredible work for families and students in , and I look forward to all she will continue to accomplish.
I am heartbroken by the news that eight children were killed in a mass shooting in Shreveport today. These were young lives with so much promise, taken far too soon. My prayers are with their families, the people of Shreveport, and all of Louisiana. Gun violence has taken so much from our communities. This is a truly devastating tragedy.
