Self-care looks different for everyone. Today, mine looked like taking time for myself at Lady Sammy in College Park, Md.
Not only does she provide excellent, professional service, but her space is immaculate, welcoming, and the waxing process is surprisingly gentle and nearly painless. You can truly tell she cares deeply about her work and her clients.
I’m also especially proud to support her because she is a successful graduate of our high school — a beautiful example of a Black woman entrepreneur making an impact right here in our community.
Representation matters. Excellence matters. Supporting local Black-owned businesses matters. 🤎

Today I chose quiet over noise.
Stillness over spectacle.
Presence over pace.
I spent my birthday in a contemplative, soul-centered way at the Washington National Cathedral with my dear friends Bridgit and Brandis, watching & listening to the .usa Buddhist Monks, who ended their 108 day walking journey in DC.
We were guided through a meditation using the gentle rhythm of our own heartbeats as an anchor—such a simple, powerful reminder to return home to ourselves.
Later, Venerable Pannakara offered a Dharma talk on the importance of shutting out distractions & quieting the mind. It landed deeply. Exactly what this season of my life is asking for.
We were gifted peace bracelets made by loving humans near the cathedral—unexpected, sweet, and perfect. A small symbol of intention I’ll carry with me into this next year around the sun.
Grateful. Grounded. Still becoming. ✨
Here’s to another year of listening inward, moving with peace & purpose, and honoring the wisdom that comes with time.
💛🧘🏽♀️🌿

✨Wearing love, art, and intention.✨
It’s such a joy to step out in pieces created by women I deeply admire. These aren’t just accessories or clothes—they’re expressions of self, culture, power, and soul.
Glasses, bag, and bracelets by the one and only
Painted overalls by the phenomenal
Every time I wear their creations, I feel like I’m carrying a piece of their with me.
Support Black women artists. Their work isn’t just beautiful—it’s necessary. 🖤
