George C. Marshall’s plan for European recovery was signed into law 78 years ago today. Marshall first considered American support for European reconstruction after attending a 1947 conference in Moscow. Within 10 months, the Marshall Plan was put into effect, and America’s alliance with Western Europe further developed.
Although this alliance has recently been tested, the members of National Security Leaders for America remain committed to the unified world Marshall helped build.
