Boat tours with Anacostia Watershed Society will be happening all week! We’ll have three tours a day, with first come, first served sign-ups available at the welcome table. Please note that boat rides are weather dependent.

Get out on the river and enjoy sightseeing while learning about the Anacostia River ecosystem, spotting wildlife, and more!

Thank you to all who joined us for this month’s Super Friends Saturday. We saw over 200 community members join us in Anacostia Park for a day of fellowship, joy, and recreation.

From sharing resources to spending time along the Anacostia River Trail, it was a beautiful reminder of what makes this space so special.

Endless gratitude to our partners and volunteers for showing up for the park and for each other.

We can’t wait to see you again!

This past Saturday, we teamed up with Friends of the National Arboretum for a Park Care Day!

With the help of 21 amazing volunteers, 45 lbs of litter and invasive species were removed from the park—making a real impact on the health of this shared green space.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and got their hands dirty to care for the park! đź’š

Many of you may have heard about what happened in the park today. We’re grateful that no one was seriously injured, and from what we understand, it was an isolated incident. We’ve been in touch with NPS and Park Police, and the park is cleared to reopen tomorrow.

That said, we are planning to still hold Super Friends Saturday tomorrow. Not ignoring what happened, but standing in our belief in this park and the power of community. We understand if this impacts your decision to come. Please take care and do what feels right.

“The park is where we heal, not run from adversity. Tomorrow we will show them what love looks like.” 🔥 ❤️✊
